That's some real aggressive smoothing happening in the light box.

Waiting for the 13T Review, I'm contemplating buying that and will base my decision on the review by GSMArena. Hopefully it will come out in a day or two.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023It's not the same device...cameras have nothing to do!... moreMost of the smartphone lenses are made out of plastic. Very rare to find glass lenses on smartphones. Drop your phone once, the lenses might shatter.
Plastic lenses do have 10-15% drop in light transmissivity, but shouldn't affect image quality.

Another option is to install gcam or OpenCamera.

PandaMan, 11 Oct 2023Who should pay such prices? Logically, the same device is 5... moreIt's not the same device...cameras have nothing to do!
About main camera :
- K60 Ultra uses a mid-range 1/1.49"
- 13T uses higher end 1/1.28" (for exemple, iPhone 15 Ro Max uses 1/1.28")
About other cameras :
- K60 Ultra uses low end 8+2MP (you can find same cameras on Redmi Note 10 (2022) that costs 120€)
- 13T uses far better ones
About lenses : K60 Ultra hasn't Leica's lenses...look AT what costs lenses on glasses.
I'm agree, price difference is too huge but you can't say it's the same device, it's not.

PandaMan, 11 Oct 2023Who should pay such prices? Logically, the same device is 5... moreOf course it costs more in Europe and USA, and btw they are still good phones as per launch price.
In China they first of all don't have to deal with the logistics the same way and they don't have to bake in the same warranty period and perhaps more importantly they get continuous income from their app store being being the one and only installed one and ads in the UI. Just think about how much money google makes on their play store and apple makes form their app store. In China Xiaomi has the same privilege.
We could likely get similarly priced phones in Europe and USA, but still a bit more due to international shipping costs, if we
1) Didn't want long warranties (probably more a Europe thing)
2) Solely used Xiaomi's app store and not google play
3) Accepted ads in the UI
I for one am happy to pay extra so I can keep the 5 year warranty we have here in my region, have access to google's apps and a ad free UI. I don't mind using Xiaomi's app store though, as I can also use google play to get google photos, maps and gmail. Default though I think to get GAPPS they have to have google play store as default. I may be wrong on that one though. Not sure.

Who should pay such prices? Logically, the same device is 50% cheaper in China and we in the EU and USA etc. pay these discounts from our wallets, and the technical values are to not correct and real top upto date. Xiaomi has now escalated from a no-name newcomer to a top brand and has no gratitude whatsoever towards the consumers who have helped achieve this, so I'll buy a Google product 10 times earlier because at least the Android-OS really fits and you immediately know how you're being spied on and at least not discriminated against selected according to Chinese aspects!

I ran into a couple of issues with my 13T Pro which I just bought 3 days ago:
- display gets a nasty yellow tint after 9pm and switches back to normal after 7am. It does this automatically even though reading mode (which appears to be its "night light mode" a.k.a "eye care mode" since that's where I was redirected to after I selected any of the "night light" options in the "hidden settings for miui" app) is off and was never turned on since day 1. I've tried factory resetting and redownloading the updates again but the issue still persists. Issue can be easily replicated (at least for me) by simply manually adjusting the time to after 9pm and before 7am. If anyone has any workaround for this, it would be really appreciated.
- telling google assistant to set up an alarm won't work coz there are 2 clocks installed. Google assistant will set the alarm in the default google clock but since Xiaomi overrode that with their own clock, the alarm that you've set via google assistant won't go off. Workaround is to uninstall the google clock since you can't uninstall the xiaomi clock without any additional steps and mods.

Eric20, 10 Oct 2023Yeah. They appear over-exposed. Might be 0.5 or 1 stop abov... moreXiaomi's software has for some time prioritiesed high exposure in daytime, I had Mi 9T and now I am using 12X, both had this quirk, personally I like it but if knows to overexpose photos, especially bright green plants during a sunny day, similarly to here, tho it seems for 13T Pro in Leica Authentic mode it's not much of an issue, at least for my personal tastes.

I had that phone before and the speakers were superb (even a step above the Xiaomi 10 pro which was probably their second best one). They advertised it as a music phone. It's a pity they can't put this quality of speakers on other phones. The Xiaomi 13 ultra even doesn't come close to those two for sound quality

Karim , 09 Oct 2023Compare it to the s23 fe plsS23 fe uses last gen processors ..
SD8gen1 for Canada and US and Exynos2200 for most of countries..
Both of these processors are known for Thermal Throttling and heating issue so they won't be capable enough to go rival Dimensity9200+
