"...are decent for this sort of camera" is my fav phone reviewers comment on these current Xiaomi Ultrawide 15mm f2.2 cameras.
Now here's the thing. I already own and love my Note 10 Pro which has a better 16mm 20MP imager like the Huawei Mate 20, but neither of them, are great and it is time we stopped accepting "decent for this sort of camera" quality levels for phone ultrawide cameras, because with their far greater ability to see more of a scene at the same distances compared to the normal main cam's lens (about 4x) they NEED 4x the resolution that the main cam has, and this does not just mean a lens at least as good as the main cams, but a very large sensor indeed: at least as big asthe genuinely big sensors matching the genuinely high resolution 40+ resolution of the Purview 808 and Microsoft Lumia 1020 phones.
These were made to be able to resolve fine detail as well as pro Nikon and Canon full-frame cameras at low isos, thereby now solving good low-light results because we now have image stabilization AND lenses that are able to pass two to three times the amount of light the old ones did.
We have f1.6 lenses, and providing an f1.4 Ultrawide should be a doddle in our day and age allowing far better quality images than can be had from "quad-bayer" and worse.
When manufacturers begin to demand best quality results rather than "good enough for this sort of camera" results from Ultrawides, AND use simple sensors whose resolution is as stated and not interpolated down from whatever 48, 50, 108, or 200 MP chip to 12 or 12.5MP, then you can all make again the great ultrawide panoramas that quad-bayer refuses to allow with Ultrawides now AT ALL. however good the cameras and sensors become in the future as software stitching and correction in the quad-bayer area appears too difficult to accomplish.

      Are your sure camera IQ is better than old Mi 11? From your test pictures this doesn't look the case (main camera, tele and UW)

        İ have purchased this phone 2 months ago , everything about this phone is perfect except for one thing, it's screen got scratch very easily, i am really not a clumsy or messy person and i preserve my stuff properly, but just on the second day after i bought it i noticed a 2 cm scratch on its screen while i didn't drop it at all. And then i decided to be careful even more but just couple weeks later i noticed another scratch worth than that and it really pissed me off , i don't really know what this gorilla 5 screen protection is but i am sure it's a bulshit

          • Pixel 7 has better UI and UX design. Well-designed, easy to use and navigate. (Debatable based on personal preference.)

          • DXO's battery results show that 13T scores are better than Pixel 7's

          • 13T has a telephoto lens, but is limited to 50mm (more like medium telephoto); Pixel 7 doesn't have a telephoto lens

                      Anyone managed to solve battery issues?

                      I have a very weak baterry - 3-4hours of SOT over 24h period(location off, bt/wi fi scanning off, nfc off).
                      I heard that mediatek SoCs get optimized as the time goes by, but this is my third week of using it and the battery is only getting worse.

                          Frogs, 24 Dec 2023Pixel 7 should be better in every aspect except gaming, IP ... moreThe Display on the T13 is supposedly brighter and has better viewing angles. Also, where I live (Germany) it is currently much cheaper than the Pixel 7a. The Pixel might be the better phone overall, but both have their pros and cons.

                              13T user. Don't buy dumbest cp ever i bought. You will regret it cant read wifi already connected and blue tooth. You need to re- start again to read the previous wifi and bluetooth history. 100% dont buy this product. It a waste of money.

                                  Camera is very good quality, looks very smooth overall, quite a big device so thats taking some getting used to. Hoping updates fix some of the bugs with apps
