The Pro gets multi-zone laser detect autofocus, the regular only gets single-zone laser detect autofocus.

    Didn't the Exynos 2200 support ray-tracing?

It's october 13th and the embargo is long gone.

I actually expected battery life test, so I hope they do a real review soon enough with those tested.

In the performance charts, why not give option to people to compare different devices instead of giving only a particular set of devices, like you give option in speaker test. It would be such a good way for comparison instead of users needing to search for the phone review on the site again. For example, Motorola Edge 40 pro and Xiaomi 13 series have performed very well in the Geekbench and Antutu scores, but you have given only performance of only a set of phones from Apple, Samsung and Nothing. I am not saying it is bad but it would have been better if there is an option to select phones to compare.

Ahhh, I'm just waiting on battery life numbers. I like GSMArena's objective and consistent testing for battery life. Many other reviews have said it's "better" than the 7 series but only in vague terms.

I don't mind mid-range performance but weak battery life is the real deal-killer for me.

Makes 🤮 to see brands give better specs to largest phone, very nasty move.
But what google has done is even worse. Restrict function on Pixel 8 is ridiculous.

"in the Google Play Store, the latter was night and day better with a far smoother and consistent scrolling experience. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, was very jittery with consistent stutters that never went away no matter how many times the app was opened and loaded."
I'm having this very issue and it's super frustrating. Also happens on other apps such as Youtube and Reddit. I don't think I'll keep the phone if it behaves like this.

S22 Ultra Exynos 2200 has same 45W used by S23 Ultra.

If the phone used 8g2, it would still have same 27W. It is choice made by google.

Will G3 melt the phone before the review is done? Stay tuned!

skoda9635, 13 Oct 2023As a Pixel 6 Pro owner I can hold off upgrading for another... moreMore agree impossible, as a former user of a pixel 7 pro, I also had the 6 pro... I could once again have to wait almost 2 hours for the phone to charge, I am a very demanding user

As a Pixel 6 Pro owner I can hold off upgrading for another generation or two.

Shame on Google for sticking with slow charging caused by Exynos CPU, again using weak CPUs and not getting that much of a battery life.

But on the other side, I don't see a phone that would have great performance, top notch software, great zoom capabilities, fast charging and a smooth performance. Samsung is a no-go for me - can't withstand One UI.

Motorola had some interesting devices this year, but they lack a proper telephoto camera. It could be the closest thing to Pixel there is.

Oppo Find X6 isn't really available here, but their software support is weaker.

Vivo x90 pro plus is also unavailable, would have to import with their weird ROM and notifications are an issue with that phone.

Xiaomi 13 Pro is looking great but that weak telephoto is no-go.

iPhone 15 Pro Max is too big for me. Otherwise it would be great. But their telephoto is very weak in terms of noise and lack of sharpness past 5x.
