Also in recent video test on notebookcheck a domination X13U over iP15PM, picture quality itself daylight, night, low light, clear winner over iPhone.

Regarding video (not stills), the iPhones have dominated the market for the last 2-3 years, at least.

According to DxoMark, the Huawei P60 pro is still the king with regards to stills photography but I think that the X100 pro has surpassed the Huawei.

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2023I am glad you like it so much, but to my eyes, the X100 Pro... moreX100 Pro processes details in a very similar way to Pixel 8 Pro, except it doesn't go overboard with sharpening during the day. Low light performance is more or less comparable but I would say X100 Pro is a smidgen less noisy in deep shadows. iPhone's cameras are actually pretty good now (Thank god they mitigated the terrible overprocessing seen on iPhone 12-14 series), but all things considered I'll take Vivo's processing over iPhone's any time of the day.

        "And most consumers would, too"
Of course. They buy iPhone and Galaxy because they are already stuck in their ecosystems, or they are popular brands. That's exactly the case in my country too, because everyone else apart from those two companies has just faded away in the last few years lol. Right now if I want to have any phone with good cameras, I would have to parallel import one, which honestly sucks.

Read real life use experiences on Reddit on the iphone sub. There's a huge number of complaints about the camera quality. My spouse has one and it is HORRIBLE in indoor lighting. Like worse than phones even a few years older than it. The phone is absolutely garbage in real world usage, which is shocking considering the positive reviews.

It's very noticeable in the comparisons here. I'd take a Pixel or an iPhone over it any day. And most consumers would, too.

But out of the phones you've listed, only Huawei P70 is unknown at present and MIGHT be competitive. But no Google services there.
Both Xiaomi 14 Pro and Samsung 24 Ultra will have A LOT smaller main sensors. Maybe Xiaomi 14 Ultra - but its nearly guaranteed to be a China exclusive...

I guess Oppo Find X7 Pro has the best chances to beat it. But again, unlikely to leave China...

At 1x the photos look fantastic (The balcony pattern is better resolved than most other phones) and the 100mm equivalent telephoto lens is also phenomenal, but the 2x digital crop from the main camera is especially interesting as it's completely indistinguishable, or I would say even better than shots from the vast majority of dedicated 2x telephoto cameras out there. iPhone and Pixel had a good Quad Bayer digital zoom implementation too, but this is on a whole new level and it's really nice to see that Vivo managed to pull this off. Well done.

Something that many of us consider important remains to be reviewed: shooting at 28mm and 35mm. Does it really seem leakless or is it just a common clipping? Can you leave those "hybrid" lenses fixed even if you leave the camera app or is it necessary to change it every time we leave and enter?

As a cameraphone and photography enthusiast I have been thrilled to read this gsmarena review.
Comparing your results and impressions with those from other reviews it seems that the Vivo X100 pro is THE stills photography camera to beat in 2024.
In particular, all reviews seem to converge at the telephoto camera being the best one they have ever seen. And the main camera, while maybe a little too wide at 23 mm equiv. focal length, delivers absolutely stunning cropped 2x short tele-images.

                            That being said:
Most reviews concur that video is not that good (in particular: stabilization) and that the ultra-wide lens leaves a bit to be desired.

So, I guess, everyone who is dead-serious about videography propbably has no better option at the moment than the iPhone 15 pro (max).
And those who want the very best in stills photogtaphy should probably wait for Xiaomi 14 pro reviews to come in and maybe for the upcoming Huawei p70 pro and Samsung S24 Ultra and then compare these devices with the X100 pro. Or they just grab the X100 pro right away, although I am not sure about vivo's current policy on how many years of software support they are going to provide.

I am hoping it officially gets released here in the Philippines. We are getting tired of just Samsungs and Apples here.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max has such low performance score, it doesn't even make it in the charts :))))). They are good when it comes to screen nits, for example, so they appear in the GSMArena charts, but performance they simply can't do it. A petite 1.4 million score in Antutu... pff
