Hey all. Did someone managed to get Google wallet and nfc payment to work? Amazing device, superb camera otherwise. Cheers

Fortunately with the modern phone cameras I could put my 1" Sony RX100 to rest. Probably will be a while until I can fully retire my Full Frame A7 III, but I'm taking it along less and less.

Sony is so far behind anfter many companies like Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Vivo in smarthpones camera. Byt why if they make the sensor ?! And why their phones are so exensive ? Becaose of...jack 3,5mm ? They focus on camera but lose vs iPhone, Samsung Galaxy series (ultra), Oppo, Vivo, Huawei and even Xiaomi. Is there even one point to buy Sony phones ?

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2023Ok so why do you need the latest and greatest chipset then ... moreHuh? If you don't need speed or long-term support then you go for midrange SD/Mediatek/Exynos SoCs, you wouldn't need either D9300 or 8g3 to begin with. If you play a lot of games or have a lot of other apps that are CPU/GPU intensive, or if you care about no-compromise camera performance, you get flagship SoCs.

John Tezz, 17 Dec 2023Silly question: will they name this phone's successor ... moreLast year's model was the X90, before that it was the X70, the X60 etc.

If Vivo sticks to this rule, next year's model number should be named X110.

Such an overcompensating exercise are these type of android phones.

Fill the specs sheet to confuse and distract from the obvious optimization and efficiency issues...

I'm actually quite happy with my current phone that has a MediaTek chipset that can circles around the SD695.

But samsung giving 5 years updates even on cheaper a series. media tek is no slower you think it will be my 13t pro has ufs 4.0 16 gb ddr5x ram 1 terabite storage.

Silly question: will they name this phone's successor X101, X110 or X200🤔

Seems kind of backwards logic if all you do is use the phone as a camera, a media consumption device and lightweight gaming, in which case you should care about being required to charge it one night a week instead of blazing fast performance in CPU/GPU intensive workloads.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2023I agree. No one cares about emulation except for an extreme... moreKirin is DOA, exynos has lack of support as does mediatek.
Look we get that there are great chipsets and greater, but once you start comparing mediatek to snapdragon you forget that mediatek will be good for 2 years tops for the average high end user and snapdragon will be good for 5 if not more years (htc leo, sd800 variants, poco f1, etc.).
If you change you're phone every two years (God forbid more often) it would do you more good to just get a nokia 3310(MY2000) and a soapbox camera rather than promoting cameraphones that can't even hold a candle after a few years.
Either use sd695 and be happy with it or get with the program.
