Gsmarena, does the X100 Pro let you save dng files at 10x in its auto mode? If yes, the resolution of the dng files would tell us whether Vivo uses pixel binning at 10x because the 10x images don't look very good. For example, the Pixel 6 Pro uses pixel binning at 10x in all light conditions (in contrast to the 7 Pro and 8 Pro). This should be tested in every review.
In some images it's hard to say whether Vivo only used machine learning or whether they combined machine learning with the higher resolution. It seems that Vivo has issues with the color filter array or signal to noise ratio.

      About cameras: Impressive rear cameras performance, but just 1080p recording on front camera? in a phone launching in 2023/2024? what the actual f? huge letdown.

      About Mediatek SOC: impressive very high performance and stability on both CPU and GPU. Sadly this will be the last time they will overcome Qualcomm, since next year Qualcomm will ditch ARM Cortex CPU design completely in 8 Gen 4 in favor of their own custom Oryon CPU design, which will be a massive step up against ARM cortex in both performance and efficiency.

        Good stuff. Your testing confirmed what Geekerwan's review of this phone also found, the chipset is fairly stable and very competitive for such a bold design. Next few gens of both Qualcomm and Mediatek should improve even more on this.

          The chip performance means nothing without support.

          Even if it were twice as good, it would still be behind even sd gen 1, when it comes to emulation and gaming. And if you're not emulating or playing games, why are you buying flagship socs in the first place?

              Ultrawide might not be THAT wide but it's amazing nonetheless.
              1080p selfie video is meh but if it's 60fps then I'll take it.

                  Wow. That's a beast of a chipset. It edged out the sd8g3 by a hair both in max performance AND throttle test. That's a double win.

                    Add to that the possibility of a true rival chipset that can possibly bring competition to make consumers truly benefit

                    It's literally a point of change in people's decades old mindset /expectation of what configuration can lead to overheating or not..

                    The implications/possibilities are massive

                          I want to see Oppo Find X7 Pro and compare with this one

                            Excellent chipset, now imagine this chip been used on a proper gaming phone with better cooling system

                              I must say I am absolutely shocked about the performance of the camera.
                              Setting aside oversharpening that unfortunately most smartphones do these days that I don't like, it's by far the best camera system in the market right now.
                              I am especially shocked how well it manages to digitally crop those 2x and 10x shots. I compared them to the OnePlus 11(2x telephoto) and to S23 Ultra and it's not even close, the difference in quality is surprisingly better on this X100 Pro.
                              I'm really sad, I want it but there is no way I will be able to buy it for reasonable price in Europe, even used in a year or so, since Vivo flagship really hold their price in the used market, actually even more so than the iPhones which is absurd to me.

                                Very good results overall.
                                The battery is good,the display brightness is great, the dimensity is even better as well as cameras overall and overall the phone seems quite capable.

                                I wish it wasnt as expensive as Vivo flagships are outside of China.

                                  A 5,400mAh battery and only 12:25h of web browsing?

                                  GSMA - you didn't even comment on the colour accuracy of the display. Brightness and the refresh rate aren't the most important considerations for everyone.

                                        - Nobody uses mediatek for most expensive phone. No surprise the zero marketshare of phones above $700. Even in China these phones only sell when price drop to $500-550. Nobody pays $700-800 for them.

                                        - Only 4 devices ( not tablets) to have it : X100, X100 pro, 14T pro, X7. How many with 8g3 ? ( not counting those to use it in 2025 like oppo reno, op 13r etc).

                                        Same ppl that defend it here are same ppl that trashed mediatek when they had good chips P series. Many defend just because they think mediatek is chinese, when it is taiwanese. Weirdly they do not cheer for Unisoc.

                                        I know it is not your case here, but some wants to see qualcomm down just because where qualcomm comes from.
