"The bezels around the screen are razor-thin." and immediately proceeds to show an image that has huge bezels.

No sd card = no buy.
I already made my peace with no headphone jack but I will never give away the sd card slot! IT is so versatile when you have no access to internet when you are travelling.

I was reading on another site about the "AI" for voice calls.
IF it works the way the person testing it says it works, I could see that being a benefit.
The era of the "Star Trek" universal translator is here.

Kul, 17 Jan 2024S24 just as bad camera as s21. No upgrade just even möre sh... moreExactly! That's why I'm reluctant to upgrade from my S21 to S24.
I'll still wait for proper reviews before taking the final decision, but so far, Xiaomi 14 Looks more compelling to me (global version to be released end of January).

Rakesh, 17 Jan 2024So exciting. They moved the flash.
Now flagship looks lik... moreDeeply disappointed in the optical zoom downgrade.
I'll stick with my fabulous S21 unless the reviews show a very clear improvement at 10x equivalent zoom, and up!

AnonD-1138975, 17 Jan 2024I don't know what I will do in 2 years time, let alone... moreI agree with you. But technology is reaching its limits. Look how little the hardware has been changed in here compared to the S23s. Barely a difference. So, they'll now focus more on software improvement, but they'll reach its limits pretty fast as well. Anyways, as for the 7 years of updates, they did it just because Google did it too with the Pixel 8 series, not because they care so much about you and want to give you the best/longest experience, even though as you pointed out, 7 years of updates are kind of meaningless on some degree, indeed. They just couldn't let Google overtake them

Dado, 17 Jan 2024Or even better s22 ultra. They all are same.Nah. SD8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 were both hotter and less efficient due to Samsung Foundry producing the chips. S23 line is much better than S22.

Kinda pricey. There are some "deals" that have caveats. I might need to wait to see the price drop further. AI is a complete gimmick. The real deal is the new SoC, LTPO screen, better battery (hopefully), and 7 years support. To everyone saying "7 years is too long!", that improves your resale value. Nobody wants to buy an out-of-date phone but in 2-3 years you can still sell it with 4-5 years of OS updates left.

David 040882, 17 Jan 2024Yes, it's confirmed. You'll get 7 years of update... moreI don't know what I will do in 2 years time, let alone in 7 years, lol. For me, this 7 years promise means nothing. I mean, if I will be in the market for a new phone, I will not buy a S24 series or Pixel 8 series just for this fact.
Especially when we are talking about technology.
Just compare 2024 with 2017 to get an idea what I am saying. S24 with S8 for example, and see how technology/performance evolves.
And before people will say to me, that 2024 to 2031 will not be the same with 2017 to 2024, how would you know? Nobody knows. But, I think is safer to think that the increase will be the same as before, than to think that technology will just remain the same.

falosi, 17 Jan 2024No need to upgrade from S23U, waste of moneyWhen buying the most expensive phone from a manufacturer (no matter what), is never a good idea to upgrade the following year. Not even in 2 years time. Or at least this is my opinion. Or else you are just wasting money.
Of course, for those who are rich and want the greatest every year, this comment is not for them, lol.
