Can anyone confirm if you can play HDR videos on YouTube? Seems like you can't according to some comments I've seen elsewhere

I have the Samsung S8+ prior the X3 Pro. the X3P is amazing for the price, from there I thought I'd just upgrade more often than buying a flagship phone. Still no real upgrade from X3P except a massive budget like going to a Poco F series.

Last I checked the cpu on the sd7+g2 was a tiny bit faster than the sd8+g1.

SD 7s Gen2 is fabbed by samsung?

alcatraz, 01 Feb 2024It's sad that this cpu is supposed to be the successor... moreIts not, 7+g3 is rumored to be cut down 8g3. And 7+g2 gpu is much weaker than 8+g1. 40% faster on 8+g1 is a difference of 20 fps vs 28 fps. Its huge.

It's sad that this cpu is supposed to be the successor to the one in the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, the "Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2".

That sd7+g2 runs circles around the sd7sg2 in the Note13.

The sd7+g2 is basically an sd8+g1 with a smidge weaker graphics and modem.

I too like its specs, but the Note 13 Pro will be supported for longer from now, so I'm not sure I could justify getting the 12 Lite over it.

The worst thing is that Xiaomi never builds trust in providing stable performances. I hope that the new HyperOS can break this pattern.

Ive had this unit since november (china-rom) and here's my review.

note: the only difference between global and china rom is AI assistant. hey google does not work on china-roms but I work around it instead by installing google home (for smarthome control). Still cant use my voice to control smart appliances, but the google home app can still be used.

                                    1. Design- top notch. Thinnest bezels on this price range. Sides are plastic, but this comes at a price that wont make you cry when you get scratches on it.

                                    2. Camera- main camera OIS is great for photos. zooming at 2x is only better if you have a lot of light available (I still prefer a separate telephoto, which this one doest have). the 1x and 2x settings come out with different ISO for some reason. So shooting in 1x and then cropping lit later would always be a better idea. The ultra wide is servicable for moments whern you dont have enough room to back up and capture an area.

Video on the main camera is really good. Its weirldy brighter than when taking a picture. I think their software auto enhances brightness and saturation on video. Photo and video colors then are not calibrated despite being taken from the same lens.

display: the best display you can get at this price. Its not LTPO, hence the complaints on battery life, but the fast charging more than makes up for it. if youre concerned a bout battery, you can always lock display at 60hz

battery: no complaints. it can run with heavy use for 2 days. if need be, it charges full in like 40 min.

gaming: i dont game on my phone but for simple games, its no hiccup.

Ads: i dont know what ads people are complaining about. ive seen none of them within the OS.

Ive had no issues with battery. If you want to save more, go down to 60hz from the settings. The fast charging gets it filled up in 40min in my case, which more than makes up for any battery anxieties

one thing they got wrong on the review is the audio. the audio is indeed stereo but it does not come out of the earpiece. it comes out of a separate speaker unit on top of the device. This unit has very good stereo speakers.
