Mills, 03 Feb 2024Rooting is safe if you do it correctly. I'm not surpri... moreYou made sense until you brought up the feelings. I don't care how the OS makes me feel if it doesn't work properly.

I need my phone to function as a phone and the apps to just work. Android phones come with a lot of caveats beside selling your date to multiple corporations.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024Except ppl that read about tech, rest has no idea what is i... moreA lot of people still naturally see the headline features of flagship phones on TV commercials, on those little spec sheets placed right next to demo units or on manufacturer/carrier websites. Even if they don't understand what those specs exactly imply, the name "Snapdragon" becomes naturally ingrained into people's minds as they see more of them.

Many manufacturers avoided using Mediatek SoCs in the past because they used to be indeed inferior to their Snapdragon counterparts, so simply saying "We're using Dimensity for our highest-end offering this year because they are now at least just as good as Snapdragon" wouldn't sound very convincing to many of its potential buyers, because they just don't know what the name "Dimensity" even implies.

Also, as I already said, Snapdragon has a certain edge over Dimensity when it comes to modem performance as well as the resulting network speed, which would be probably a bit more noticeable than the performance difference between already super-fast CPU/GPUs on both chips for most people.

"Anyway, these chips have more power than necessary"
In case you don't know, just because you don't have a power-intensive app on your phone, that doesn't mean other people also don't or shouldn't use one. Those people who truly want a high-performance level on a phone - have the option to get such devices. For instance, SD 7g1 is probably fast enough for most people, but there are situations where the current SD8g3/D9300 powered devices will absolutely crush it (e.g. When playing heavy 3D games, exporting photos/videos).

Rudy1999, 03 Feb 2024I am sick of Samsung shipping some markets with Exynos. It ... moreYeah right? They say that exynos is SIMILAR in performance and battery life but considering the price "similar" is not enough its just rude and stupid. Samsung giving SD to US and China market is ONLY because those markets are where they have least sales share and if they want to compete with Apple and China brands they need stable fast and efficient chip and that is not exynos.

no but seriously. People are literally bringing up gaming phones to try and really push the narrative of the E2400 being bad.

How obsessed does one have to be with a brand name.

If brands like xiaomi, oppo and vivo choose 8g3 over d9300 for their most expensive non-foldable phone, simply means they consider 8g3 can offer more than d9300.

Anyway, these chips have more power than necessary. No surprise Motorola Edge 40 Pro was only flagship to score over 65% gpu stability. Rest are mostly between 40-58%.

While almost all phones with SoCs A78/55 are above 99% stability.

In the end, ppl that have phones powered by 8g3, d9300, 8g2, d9200, 8g1 and d9000 are doing on their phones same stuff compared to ppl that use phones powered by D8000, D8200, SD778, SD750, SD7g1 , stuff like browsing, messaging, calling, futile posts on social media, silly games, photos, videos, listening to music..

What would u do on phone with 8g3 that you cant do on phone with 865?

I'm not surprised if a 12 year old does it wrong and bricks their device. Besides, iOS doesn't let you feel you're in charge. You're more of a co-captain of the shit whereas Android lets you steer the wheel. Android is also highly customizable, which is why there's many versions of it (besides the fact that it's open source) like OxygenOS, OneUI, DokeOS (ew), FireOS (mid) and much more
