Aierlan, 24 Feb 2024Can anyone here who is knowledgeable on screens answer this... moreWell, yes and no. Many advertised 12 bit displays are 10 + 2, depending of some scenarios. Also some chipsets doesn't support 12 bit displays even when display hardware can offer that colors. Also on such small screen we cant see truly benefit like on tvs.

Aierlan, 24 Feb 2024Did they really mess up here though? I think it's sti... moreIt's not the curved screens but the note 13 pro and pro plus are overpriced.
Poco X6, with just a 64mp vs 200mp diff, gets you 256gb as base for cheaper than note 13 pro 128, and Poco X6 Pro definitely being much better than 13 pro+. And don't forget the flop Note 13 4g too.

Aierlan, 24 Feb 2024Can anyone here who is knowledgeable on screens answer this... moreI don't know about 12-bit (in fact I've never heard of such bit depth) but in a nutshell content is mostly SDR (8-bit) for a good reason: HDR (10-bit and above) is still evolving and there are several competing formats. But if you are a content creator and your phone does record in HDR, then at least you would be able to enjoy your own footage in HDR proper.

Mr. Anonymous, 24 Feb 2024I still think Xiaomi 13T is a better phone for the price of €420.Of course the price has dropped, but the 13T was launched at a price of €650.

Can anyone here who is knowledgeable on screens answer this question? I watched a video from a large Chinese reviewer a while back who explained that it makes absolutely no difference if a phone screen supports 12 bit colour depth because the vast majority on content on phones is 8 bit with very little 10 bit and basically no 12 bit so as far as I could understand he was basically saying that a mobile phone screen supporting 12 bit colour depth is useless as the software you consume is only 10bit at the very most. I searched this on Baidu and quite a few people say the same thing. Is that accurate?

PureOS, 24 Feb 2024Image processing, software support without issues on the lo... moreOK, but what's the evidence that the Dimensity 8300 Ultra in the Poco X6 Pro has superior image processing and potentially longer software support? Historically, people would suggest that Qualcomm chips have superior image processing and better custom ROM support.
Does a more powerful chip mean superior image processing, or is it more to do with the manufacturer (ie. Qualcomm vs MediaTek).

Can we put to rest the idea that '200MP' is worth its namesake? So basically this phone has a main camera that is equivalent to 50MP, plus 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth cameras, plus a '16MP' quad bayer selfie 🙄 To put it mildly, the whole thing leaves something to be desired

justasmile, 24 Feb 2024This is probably the first time Xiaomi messed up with the R... moreDid they really mess up here though? I think it's still an improvement compared to the Redmi note 12 series. Personally, I prefer flat screens but it also offers a curved screen for the first time in a Redmi phone so for those that like curved screens they now get an option in the Redmi line up. They have also added stabilisation to 4k video recording for example so that is a significant improvement (it should have been present in the Redmi note 12 pro and pro+ though). Pricing is also pretty similar to the previous Redmi note models. The thing is for all these midrangers you can always get a better phone by going for an older model the prior year on a deal especially if you regularly check online prices and don't need a phone urgently. However, if you are just looking for a new phone and need it immediately, and are happy with a good main camera, this is still pretty good. Personally, think this is one of their better note offerings

Pumpino, 23 Feb 2024I'm actually wondering if there's something wrong... moreI was think the exact dame thing. This new battery test does not relate well in the real world at all for anything Xiaomi. Battery life is great and is on par with phones that score 4hoirs morem I think this whole new % based score in terms of what you do i.e. gaming, calling and so on is weird. Most days most people do different things. One day I am on the phone for long calls. The nex for long gaming sessions. The next watching youtub videos. Never ever is it so segmented on a day like they have

Any Xiaomi phones with MIUI or HyperOS, at first hand, you will expect that the battery life gets bad rating. Again at first hand bought from Xiaomi store.
Someone say it is the same situation there, then after a weeks or so, the battery gets longer than the worst from the first day.

Angejo, 23 Feb 2024This review makes no sense. There is no mention of the issu... moreThat was a different reviewer who did the hands on review. He probably had a different opinion, especially on the main camera. A lot of things in these reviews are subjective and will depend on the reviewer/reviewers
