Like it or hate it Apple will be up their due to their popularity. They aren't necessarily the best cameras in the world but as a consumer product they perform along the best from Samsung and Google. It's funny how Sony never get credit.

The use of pixel-binning to effectively a good use of such a populated sensor. 200mp whether tiny combinations binned to produce results is really no different than in frame cropping that Apple and Samsung employs.

In fact, leica employs this pixel binning technique to produce the same quality of photographs at 3 different resolutions on their M and Q cameras. A different standard however similar in concept.

My hope is to get the xiaomi 13 pro or 14 ultra as us people in the UK rarely get the chance to try or use this tech.

SA466, 26 Feb 2024Yeah, I don't think a 2.5x makes much sense when your ... moreIt's 2.5x magnification compared to the main camera which is 28mm. The tele is around 70mm (Ben's gadget reviews on YT talks about this in his video).

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2024So just because the camera quality doesn't reach your ... moreAlso, the curved screen is a problem; the price is really high, even the *STARTING* price is ridiculously high at €1300; the aesthetics are just not there with the camera bump (still better than most manufacturers though); and there are no stereo speakers (even mid-rangers have them nowadays). The omission of the 0.3MP ToF 3D sensor from the back in exchange for a basic 1×1 ToF sensor makes no sense either.

The 2.5x zoom on the periscope camera is a joke they might as well would have slapped 2.5x lens in front of the sensor.
Never will digital zoom replace optical zoom in guality

Huge dissapointment, because magic5 pro had better colours.

Wesker, 26 Feb 2024Meanwhile Find X7 Ultra has been "in for review" ... moreFind X7 Ultra is China-only, so there's that.

Wesker, 26 Feb 2024Meanwhile Find X7 Ultra has been "in for review" ... moreDon't forget about the ZTE nubia Z60 Ultra

Why did you go so much more in depth with the camera review on this phone than you did with the oneplus 12? You didn't even mention portraits in the onplus 12 review?

It should be noted that Magic6 Pro is one of very few China flagships that support N71 band, at least in the announced China specs. For any non-US resident T-Mobile is the only option traveling in US and with T-Mobile N71 band is a must.

xslvrxslwt, 26 Feb 2024Did you even read what I wrote? Don't look at the scor... moreI've read your post and that's exactly what I disagree with, they always make the paid phones look good and show their deficiencies on extremely rare occasions and even if they do, they don't penalize many points unlike other phones.

I've seen dozens of comparisons of the Vivo X100 Pro with other phones and it's generally a technically superior device to other phones without a doubt. You need to do more research, the Find X7 Ultra for instance is only now fully optimized. It was horrible a few weeks ago. And as I said, I never argued with it being below the X6 Pro, but rather the BASE X6. That phone has a 1/1.56" sensor and the Vivo has a 1 inch sensor just like the X6 Pro. So don't use your weird ahh arguments. Check Han's Tech Talk, TechTablets, Tech Phenomena and the countless other unbiased reviewers who do the photoshoots and let you judge for yourself. The only thing I can say is bad about the X100 Pro is the oversharpening but Google, Honor, Huawei and Apple all do it (except for iPhones in 24 MP mode) so even that point isn't worth considering when comparing to their "top" phones.

Considering its 200mp tele, wish you would do at least some 10x shots. Feels like testing of 20mp camera instead, what are all those pixels for then...

You need to retest the battery performance again as the Magic 6 can easily beat iPhone 15 Pro max and S24 Ultra

                          Video up when ?

This definitly has the best hardware at a low zoom range, so I guess If you take a lot of portraits this phone is for you. I think the previous 3.5x zoom was more reasonable, but I guess chasing the big number gets you more attention.

jiyen235, 26 Feb 2024Bro those DxO mark rankings don't matter even to an av... moreDid you even read what I wrote? Don't look at the scores, decide yourself as they're always comparing the phone to iphone 15 pro max so it's pretty easy to know what you're buying. They write what's lacking in the photo without a mistake.

As for Vivo X100 Pro, the reason you like it is because photos look good on the first glance but as soon as you compare it to FX7U you'll see how much texture they lack and why is it placed below even the FX6P.

I said final scores might be bs but the tests themselves are the best there are so what's wrong with that

EDIT: Just realized you didn't reply to me, my bad

Wesker, 26 Feb 2024Meanwhile Find X7 Ultra has been "in for review" ... moreExactly! Let's hope GSMArena is redoing all the tests..3rd time by now..and running the latest software version when they release the test - else it'll be unacceptable for it to be delayed this much as previous software was really bad in terms of camera AF.

I had to spend weeks on YouTube watching cringe Asian people reviewing FX7U, X100P, Magic6, 14P/U...to decide to get a FX7U but damn if GSMArena only wasn't that slow I'd know immediately lol. I'll come to Bulgaria and review it in their stead I guess..

Meanwhile Find X7 Ultra has been "in for review" for a month and a half (45 days) now.
I believe that's a review much more anticipated than this or even 14 Ultra's.
                                      What's going on here?

The cameras are doing pretty well here for photos in daylight and nighttime. However, I think compared to other high end flagships the zoom range is a bit small with the 2.5x periscope. It's find in the default and ok at 5x but it can't really cope with longer zoom ranges at all. Will be interesting to see what Vivo does with this sensor on their periscope on the x100 ultra. Also, would like to see Honor improve their video processing more in the future. Their weakness lies more in video quality rather than photos.
