Darth Caesium, 16 Apr 2024Same. There's definitely some oversharpening going on,... moreIt is motorola thing.

If I use dng and just save as jpeg without editing, it looks far better than jpeg.
Exactly like samsung, tries to enhance to look good, but ruins photo.

That's a nice lookin phone IMO. Love the wood finish

Snapdragon 8s gen 3 = SD 7 gen series. Seems Motorola is using Samsung's script and you wonder why Xiaomi , and BBK family devices sell like hot cake

Darth Caesium, 16 Apr 2024Same. There's definitely some oversharpening going on,... moreEdit 2: Wouldn't ya know it, Motorola just *HAD* to use the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor for the ultrawide. The only legitimate reason for using this sensor is as a selfie camera (which they also did anyway), because it's just such a tiny sensor to be used anywhere else while also being rather large for selfie cameras. Why can't they use something better for goodness sake, like a Sony LYT-600? If the OnePlus Nord CE4 can use that sensor for its main camera, then why can't a €1000 flagship use it for its ultrawide?

AngryLithuanian, 16 Apr 2024€1000 for a phone, flagship or not, is not affordable in an... moreAnything above $600 shouldn't have considered "affordable" anyways.

Motorola really disappoints this year with their choices.

8s gen 3 is almost on par with last year 8gen2 and almost on par with 7+gen 3.
Why not 8 gen3 like all other flagships?

Same story with battery. Why 4500mah and not 5000??

Nice throwback to the old Moto X days with the wooden back but they could make it prettier, with a more highlighted camera island idk...

Whoa there looks to be a fair bit of noise from the main sensor shots in daylight! Especially in the foreground on the plants.. Hopefully they can clean that up with software updates

Pumpino, 16 Apr 2024The photos from the main sensor don't win me over. I&#... moreSame. There's definitely some oversharpening going on, especially with those metal handrails in the picture of the inside of the balloon. The colours are a bit dull, there is some minor blurriness going on compared to some other phones' main cameras, and it seems like the oversharpening has been done to try to compensate for the lack of detail and it just fails and makes it even blurrier.

Edit: The same seems to go for the telephoto as well, though it's less of a problem and has stronger hardware going for it than other 3× periscope setups. Still, the oversharpening halos do appear around certain objects' edges, even if they're minor. Also, the ultrawide is meh, and the only praise I can give it is that it's relatively close with its colours to the main sensor, as is the telephoto, but the main sensor's colours are not that impressive to begin with.

I have been waiting for this model and will definitely buy this.
I thought that Ultra variant will come with 5000 mAH battery.

The photos from the main sensor don't win me over. I've seen a lot better.

€1000 for a phone, flagship or not, is not affordable in any context. But I do like where Moto is going with their products. That wood-like back looks really nice.

1000€ smartphone is not affordable at all. Stop promoting that as a standard.

My Edge 40 is one of the most comfortable phones I've used so far.

ufff I just finished wood, it's beautiful, how nostalgic
