CamoGeko-XDA, 02 May 2024Huawei got banned for a reason... They allegedly stole cust... moreWell, you know, it's like that classic case of "he said, she said" but on a global scale. Even the US doesn't have enough evidence to pin the tail on Huawei for data theft. Maybe it's just a case of two big countries having a tiff and using tech companies as pawns in their economic chess game. Who knew geopolitics could be so entertaining?

The high ISO look in Auto goes the same to almost all modern smartphone camera nowadays. Because average people think 'brighter is always better' & company use it to capture their target audience. Eventhough for some of us it looks odd.

Nuclear green ... moreOf curse, every manual mode on almost every flagship can give you more "natural" results and this phone is no different. But this auto mode is killing it with overprocessing, to begin with all photos look like at least +1 stop for no obvious reason.

CamoGeko-XDA, 02 May 2024Huawei got banned for a reason... They allegedly stole cust... moreMy knowledge is limited, but from what I know, everyone and everything are clean unless someone proves that they are not. I don't remember Huawei being marked as spy and collecting data in any court(unlike meta and Google and even At & T, where they don't get ban anywhere:) if you have seen any news about Huawei in court becoming guilty of spying, feel free to share

Huawei got banned for a reason... They allegedly stole customers data and sold it in China. They deserve the ban from Google service until they can prove they are clean.

Now H needs to stop doing the 23➡️27 mm crop and upscale.
Bottom of screen still has much lower quality compared to even samsung photos.
Cutting edges was in vain, unlike older devices like mate 30/40.

Nick Tegrataker, 02 May 2024This hands-on review misses out on one very, maybe even the... moreSo nice to know 2024 phone is doing what a 2013 Z could. Detect scene as motion ( or even as sport) and adjust SS to something like 1/6000, 1/8000, 1/12000 or even 1/20000s ( limit of my old phone).
Or also could just use sensor with anti-distortion shutter + burst mode with AF like another brand often does.
Let's hope all other Scene modes arrive too. 🙏🏻

Nick Tegrataker, 02 May 2024This hands-on review misses out on one very, maybe even the... moreI think we'll soon see the other Chinese manufacturers trying to follow with similar technology. Once Huawei introduces something that is popular the other Chinese brands usually try to follow suit pretty quickly. That's the good thing about these innovations. It pushes others (at least competitors in China) to also offer something similar

Nick Tegrataker, 02 May 2024This hands-on review misses out on one very, maybe even the... moreThat is such a simple feature that no other manufacturer implements omg whaaat.
Like it seems like the phone takes a LOT of shots and especially at FAST shutter speeds and most likely uses AI to check for the clearest image with the lowest ISO and then saves that. Instead of a separate mode, Vivo should implement some feature like this and so should other manufacturers! Everyone takes pictures of pets, sports, cars or even their kids, these don't stand still so this is an amazing feature. Bravo Huawei.

Anonymous, 02 May 2024These shots are pure HDR puke. Have someone seen shadows on... moreU expect shadows on cloudy days environment? Nuclear green grass? Have u seen Samsung photo sample on how it takes on the greens?
Feels like u've seen different sample photos 🤷🏻
Oh in case u didnt know about Huawei camera phone, a simple hold tap to the viewfinder & 2 options are appear, focus area & exposure metering. If u like to play with the shadows as a true photographer would like, just move the metering in the brightest area so that shadows will maintain darker while maintaining highlights without looking overexposed. Pretty much like light metering in a camera world.
These are some of my samples taken by Huawei phone (P40 & Mate 20) - https://www.instagram.com/shuibullah.amran/

CPU wise is STRONG. But GPU wise needs a MASSIVE leap to be competitive.

Don't know why you can't get 5G connectivity outside China. The modem is certainly capable of 5G.
