Huawei Pura 70 Ultra hands-on review

Huawei is a lot smarter than some of the people defending them online. Some of the rabid people writing for Huawei are making Huawei look bad. I have a lot of respect for Huawei. Some of the people arguing for Huawei however are often ridiculous. I just wish them to know that they aren't helping Huawei look good by replying to every anti-chinese post out there. You're associating Huawei to the level of bickering children.

Anonymous, 13 May 2024You are a US bot! That'a odd because the phone I used the longest time was an Honor (huawei). My dad has a Huawei today. It's from before the trade war so he has google services and proper Android.

Anonymous, 13 May 2024No, you're the US bot that keeps on insinuating this p... moreApple products are inferior in many ways.

Consumers compare pros and cons. To me the cons by far outweigh the pros with Apple products. But I'm not the average user. The phone I owned for the longest time (6 years) was an Honor (huawei).

Apple didn't become HUGE by being from the US. That's what Huawei bots are mistaken about. Apple got market share by offering a user experience, an ecosystem, simplicity and time saving productivity. Being from China, India, Germany is irrelevant. They became the best product available for a lot of people (not everyone). Huawei and their users should focus on that and not about this "we and them" mentality. It won't help sales.

The photos are great. But I do feel like there are definitely hints of that "AI" processing going on in some of the details, especially the clouds. Maybe they should crank the processing down a bit.

But it is very possible that phones will slowly increase the sensor size incrementally. If they can increase it to 1.33" (which is essentially micro 4/3rds), you are already left with a VERY capable sensor. If you've seen photos from micro 4/3rd cameras like Olympus or Lumix, they are exceptional.

Apparently everyone pays by phone now (they use WeChat pay). Not a single person has a card and therefore no wallet. So theft rates have drastically decreased.

Find some not biased pages reviewing it, there are already some few English videos that reviewer has the phone, not just translating a video from who knows where. If you don't trust random YouTubers, wait for gsmarena.

I like Huawei phones. It's a little expensive, but it's a phone that excites me, which I'll want to experience.

Aluminum + high quality plastic is a hard combination to beat. Titanium might be on the rise but it's expensive. The world's lightest phones aren't titanium.

I used to like big display phones but lately I've done a 180 and gone with the smallest and lightest as long as there's a desktop mode. That means that I can plug the phone and get a massive 4k60hz workstation going, all while being extemely portable. I think it's the future. If I had to get a new phone today it would probably be a snapdragon S23 and modify it with 16GB of ram, or a 12GB S24 snapdragon. Once android has it's own desktop mode better than dex, I'd look into switching to that and possibly depart from Samsung. Although the amoleds in their phones are outstanding.

The SOC is slower than current flagship chipsets due to US meddling and sanctions, but apart from that this phone is a modern flagship in everyway. Would you call the iPhone, which has worse cameras, an inferior product?

Bots don't help Huawei because they have zero credibility. Kind of like salesmen, or people that shit post about China. Lots of people can see through that. Engaging those idiots by replying, even if it takes only 1 second, is a waste of time. Show by example. Less talking, make good products and good business and people will notice.

I like that too. That they can achieve a smooth experince with a slower SoC. Inferior SoC doesn't mean that it isn't worth buying. Price is relevant here. As long as we're not pretending that it's faster or that the phone wouldn't be even more powerful with a faster SoC.

No. 1 on dxomark and every reviewer praising the smooth performance of the UI and chipset and the quality of its cameras included the zoom lens, bokeh, macro shots and fast shutter speed. The problem is when you blindly support anything chinese, and reject anything foreign. That is mostly irrelevant to the world when they're looking to buy technology.

You're probably harming Huawei and chinese businesses by engaging in nationalistic arguing instead of arguing the products' strengths. You might make a great point and then later wrongly support a chinese inferior product, or reject a foreign superior product, and lose your credibility. Then the person you argue with ignores your valid points = bad.
