The macro photos are clearly superior to the only barely remotely similar main camera shots at its minimum focusing distance. Whomever wrote that the main camera provides "vastly superior images than the 2MP 'macro' unit" needs to get their eyes checked, as well as their bias checked - as the macro shots are fully in focus, compared to the massive levels of out of focus areas in the main camera photos, as well as more accurate colours on the macro shots, compared to the hyper saturation of the main camera photos, and the macro shots are also just overall clearer than the main camera shots that look like someone smeared some vaseline over the lens.

All parameters are ok until this phone cannot be unlocked for free. The user community will be small, there will be no custom rom. => I don't buy it.

Disappointing battery life...
2k display and 120W charger is ok, but longer battery life very important than both.
Unfortunately, there is optimization issues as always in Xiaomi phones...

There's probably a youtube video out there that answers your question. I managed to uninstall some stock software from my father's lame redmi A1 and then even more with ADB thru PC or Termux (Android). Not a single ad ever.
This is a very old issue thrown around by bitter Samsung and Apple fans in the US who do not try to see what's outside their country.

And then there's another one and the chase keeps going lol. There's more complaints from Xiaomi/chinese brands probably because there's more of them being sold. When was the last time Samsung released an A-series phone for gaming?

I have a Note 9s... moreThose saying Xiaomi's parts is not long lasting is because they are buying the lower cost midrange Redmi and POCO, which already using outdated tech from the start, such as this POCO F6 Pro, we all know 8Gen2 is not the latest and best flagship processor, then the midrange is even worse, could be using processor that is 3 to 4 years late. Normally for midrange or entry level smartphone, it is only expected to last 1 to 2 years. Those really want good long lasting experience smartphone, you still need to pay much more for flagship smartphone. So, please don't make non-sense comparison.

Then, who can change their smartphone and tablet every year? You? Majority don't do it.
Also, those company that fight this war are fighting with high stake too, the one you still seeing now a day might be winner for today, but could be loser a few years later.
So, just buy whatever available now, don't talk shit about the past and also we cannot predict the future.

You can go with inferior performance smartphone of the same price, but put priority on camera, there are plenty smartphone out there. By this era, user must do some research before buying something, especially smartphone at this kind of pricing.
