Without the desktop mode (no matter what people called), tablet is just like a mobile phone with wider screen. Nothing special.

Desktop mode is exactly why Samsung has 40% Android tablet marketshare (20% total marketshare if you also count iPad OS, windows, and harmony OS)

AlexS, 04 Jun 2024isn't that with keyboard?Only some regions include they keyboard, here they sell it in a bundle for 799 with the tablet.

I`m confused. This tablet has side mounted fingerprint module and in your cons says no fingerprint. It needs to be corrected I guess.

All reviews ignore mentioning one important aspect of any productivity tool... Can this be used with an external display ? Not as a clone display, but as a real, secondary one ?

Prices at my earth corner:
Xiaomi Pad 6S pro 12.4" 8GB/256GB 712 euros with keyboard.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus 12.4" 12GB/256GB 802 euro no keyboard but with pen.

Pros and Cons from perspective of an office replacement.
More brightness in Xiaomi screen 800 nits vs 550 nits, comes with a keyboard, pen not important for me, but the biggest problem: no memory card for expansion in Xiaomi so need to put data in cloud storage. More comfortable with Samsung OS and update policy.
S9 Plus have Dex. But not sure how that is advantageous.

Still with S9 Plus with keyboard going to +900 euros, i think i give the advantage to Xiaomi.

What about HDMI out. A big seller for Samsung's Dex.
That's why I'm saving up for one.

It doesn't fit into my pocket. Please xiomi make this phone smaller! It's ridiculously big. What happened to perfect 4.5" sizes?

Problem is that Samsung is on sale all the time here.

Regular S9 is already better than this and it goes for 170 euro less, S9+ is 70 euro less and the "expensive" S9 Ultra is just 30 euro more.

Sure if we consider the MSRP the Tab S9 series launched at then this Xiaomi is 50 euro more than what S9 was here.

It doesn't make the Xiaomi bad, but their support is even more inconsistent on tablets, plus since HyperOS you can not remove those annoying 3 dots on top even when playing games or watching videos.

Anyhow, fine product but the alternatives are there for less.

It makes sense to get this if you are into Xiaomi ecosystem.
