Damn This was near closer to my version of the perfect phone (minus 3.5mm,micro SDcard slot).

However multiple reviewers have independently confimed it to have a lot of bloatwares preinstalled which cant be uninstalled either!!...which makes it more of a realme phone than a Oneplus phone!! Ive yet to check it myself..But GSMarena team missing this issue out on software section feels intentional and misleading...Big L to Oneplus with this device and team for not notifying the site users

After a 25 year run with Samsung right from the SGH600 days, I have decided to ditch the brand. Too many complaints and issues with Crapsung these days - Display died just days out of warranty - and replacement costs more than what the phone is worth! Exynos chips that seem to proliferate the phones being sold in India are damn buggy, and the user experience progressively becomes laggy. Heating. Battery issues .. the list goes on. Their quality has clearly fallen and everything other than their flagships feels built to fail (planned obsolescence). And suddenly they seem to have grown arrogant - in terms of their product vs pricing.

After considering the S23FE, and A55 and A35, Vivo V30, Moto Edge50 Pro, I just prebooked an OnePlus Nord 4 for INR28,999/- aka around USD 346/- (launch offer plus card disc).

Specs seem far superior to anything the Sammys have to offer even at 10k above. 8 GB RAM 256GB UFS4.0 plus a 100W fast charger in the box!!! 6 years of Software and security updates.

      My priorities were -

      1. A reasonably priced midranger - not more than USD 350 (INR 30K). After having splurged on flagships, I have cone to value the value proposition! :D

      2. NO bloatware

      3. Regular updates - and the longest possible updates in this segment is currently the OnePlus Nord 4 - According to their website - 6 years of Software and Security Updates (Please note some review sites have this down as 4 yrs OS and 6 year security - this is still more than everyone)

      4. Good Cameras (need not be cutting edge - I was happy with the output that I saw in the One Plus showroom - yes they had one on display)

      BONUS -
      4. Metal Body ( no more fragile glass to shatter - and insanely fat covers to protect against that)

Guess am sorted for my use case.

Decent chip and lots of RAM but cameras are underwhelming. As always with these mid range chinaphones. It just shows that getting a chip and cramming it into metal and glass sandwich is easy. Having good cameras and software for them is hard.

Because oneplus has decent hardware at all prices while samung has the worst. Samung is over priced and slowest and most outdated soc of all the phones

The bottom line from the video review: "will be easier to reccomend when the price goes down". Cant agree more. Not a 550 usd phone. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Nord 4 costs a minimum of 375. About same with the gt6t. Which have this absolute garbage soc.

And personally I think you'd have to be so acoustic to be doing shit like Nintendo or PC emulation on phones. Get the full experience, play them on bigger screens, with proper controls.

All flagship soc would overheat if you max Highend Emulation, even in this Oneplus which use 7W it's same power usage as flagship like 8 gen 3. If you know how to configure highend Emulation managing heat won't be a problem either.

Give emulation a try using the 7+ gen 3 phone, you will face such dramatic perf drops within 15-30mins, heat so extreme that you will fear holding the phone. Charge the phone like 5 times a day.

There are MUCH BETTER performance chips than this particular one. Nobody is talking about usage here. My comment was only about this 7+ gen 3 soc in particular. Goodluck with your Nintendo emulation on Android, you got this.

DigBick, 18 Jul 2024Xperia 1 VI has 8 gen 3. Comparing 8gen3 to 7300 is unfair.... moreBut you can't use Video playback to test cores, because there is separate area in soc just for encoding and decoding video. We don't use cpu to play video in 2024 unless you disable hardware acceleration and use software acceleration.

Meanwhile Browsing is good test for cpu atleast when you run heavy script, like Javascript which can stress single core perfomance.

We are talking about 7+gen3 here. On paper they might look the same but they are not same. Also video playback is one of the best ways to check for battery.

Assume I want to Emulate Nintendo switch or PC games and I don't have money to buy flagship phones these kind of soc will appeal to me 8s gen 3 and 7+ gen 3. In emulation you want best single core perfomance as possible which you get from cortex X core,

Dont assume all 8 billion people in world have same usage as you and what you like they should like too.

Does it have EIS at 4k60fps? Some reviewers in India shot some videos in this mode and the video was stabilized. I guess they didn't use any sort of "external" stabilizer. I can't imagine a phone having no EIS at even 4k30. Besides this, it is a great phone, but a dealbreaker for me with no EIS...

Even though Nothing is good you can see A720 matching those score or even surpass like Xperia 1 VI

Also video streaming isn't good measurement of Cpu core, nowadays there is dedicated media Engine use by soc neither cpu or Gpu is used unless you choose to use it.
