Luka3rd, 23 Aug 2024My wife's Razr 40's screen cracked on the fold af... moreMy razr 40 lasted about 14 months and only developed problems because I kept using it on the beach and got sand in it. It then sounded a bit creaky when un/folding but worked fine. However, I later dropped it screen down on the floor in the house and the screen cracked, perhaps because of the sand. Both these faults developed due to my own mistakes and otherwise I'd had no problems at all. btw I'm not implying that the problem your wife had with the phone was down to her, just saying that my own experience was different. I was very happy with my lilac razr 40, loved almost everything about it and was sad to give up on flip phones for a more robust, if rather boring, experience with Galazy S22. Seeing the new razr 50 though I'm tempted to try again. Won't need to open it on the beach, yay.

Oh this Samsung fans that are commenting on a Motorola Razr 50 must be call loser why because they come here to check how Moto manage to build a lower version of the premium Razr 50 Ultra but still have some better option than the Premium Flip 6 with a tiny screen. My question is do you wanna buy the Razr 50?

Better updates, yeah I agree, but it's not as if you're using it for >3 years. Save 500 and get new one after 3 years and you still can save more

Oh yeah, and that 'tiny screen' is just 0.2" smaller than the RAZR 50 - if you take into account the 'holes' (cameras), it's actually the Flip5 that has a bigger screen real estate.

I got the 2023 RAZR plus and the screen (not screen protector), the screen has an ugly crease in the middle 7 months after purchase. Warranty does not cover physical damage so they refuse to help, I'll have to pay out of pocket for fix (while I'm still paying off for the phone with Rogers).
Hopefully they've addressed this with the 2024 version but unfortunately only time will tell.

justasmile, 12 Aug 2024Jokes on you. Z Flip 5 has USB 3.2 (no Dex but it's ... moreLook at this Samsung worker, the Razr 50 and 50 Ultra can connect to any TV or monitor to be used like a full PC while the Flip 5 and the Flip 6 doesn't support it. You didn't even read the review but you just doing your work to protect a flip phone with a tiny external screen which is poor and can't run all the apps out of the box like the Razr 50. The Razr 50 with a lower price can be even compare to some area to the latest Flip 6 and beat it,starting with the lack of dex mode to the Flip 6 and a much better battery without talking of the large screen on the Razr 50 which beat the one on the tiny Flip 6 screen. By the way how much does Samsung pay you for lying...

Aierlan, 12 Aug 2024Maybe it's country dependant. Where I am in east China... moreLots of people in East China is quite a logical result based on 1) higher population and 2) generally higher adoption rate of foldables in China compared to Ireland (assuming based on your name :D)

So, the z flip has a better chipset but throttles heavily under load. Not the case with the razr. The flip has slightly better cameras and the razr better displays and charges faster. Not so fast when it comes to updates, but still 3 major os updates promised. Pricing is more or less the same, in some markets the razr is cheaper and for me better looking. And yet the review score is much lower. I don't understand? 🤔

It's a great phone, the screen is excellent with really nice colors. Form factor is the best! If you prefer using the smaller phones like S24, iPhone 15. This will weight the same and handle just as well but will give you a much larger display. The phone has never lagged or stutter and yes the battery life is really good. Much better than the RazR 2023 it replaced.

Z Flip 5 has USB 3.2 (no Dex but it's not like this doesn't support it either), and more importantly, significantly better chipset, That's already enough to justify. Keep working hard for Motorola.

Razr 50 is a beautiful phone love the orange vegan leather finish. But why are all brands afraid of changing the most disturbing thing which is the 22:9 aspect ratio? It's a terrible experience to write anything on such narrow screen! Bring on a 20:9 screen and I'll be interested for sure. A 22:9 even a 21:9 screen is a no no no ✋🛑

As a RAZR 2023 owner... the HW is amazing, solid, reliable. But I have buyer's remorse. The SW, is a train wreck. Their complete lack of response to marketed key functionality being broken, seemingly permanently, by SW updates is a huge blow to customer satisfaction. Even in the much belated Android update - use of voice assistant with the phone closed, eg - hands free operation - reportedly remains broken for more than seven months. Moto needs to step up their SW game to win me back.
