Motorola Razr 50/razr (2024) review

So it's the 5th gen of the flip phones, right? Is anyone actually using them? Genuinely haven't seen anyone do so, seen a few foldables, but not flips. Curious for user opinion of owners

One of the best flip phones out right now, just as Flossy says!

For people that can't carry a huge slab phone at work or whatever this is perfect.

Maybe surprisingly I don't mind the hole in the smaller external display. Holes in main display are still unacceptable for me.

I still remember the time when the android phones had full screen displays and no holes.

Also I do no think there is really reason for gimmicky fordable display phones to be more expensive. I also still remember that nokia or shrap flip phones did not cost more then regular ones. And nokia flip phones these days are still one of the cheapest. No foldable display needed to make flip phone even today.

sorry but, I would not recommend a motorola flip phone until I see real world hinge tests. last year's razr40 only lasted 45k folds despite being advertised to withstand 400k!

Reviews tend to agree that, if you don't need an abundance of power and are fine with a mid-range camera, Motorola hit it out of the park with this phone.I've never had a flip phone, but these look seriously cool and stylish. I'm considering picking one up whenever they inevitably go on sale. The biggest thing is we'll see these get down to 400-500 dollars and that's helpful to the category popular.

LoneOwl, 10 Aug 2024Great battery capacity?Thats just 200mah more than Flip 6. ... moreYou can't measure battery life in just mah, it is the chipset that matters also. Galaxy has just 200mah less but it also uses tre ramaining 4000mah a lot faster. Also, this 800 bucks on this kind of phone is somewhat justified because it is flip phone afterall, it is noj regular veraion like so many others. I think this is the best flip phone for the price on the market right now.

rizki1, 10 Aug 2024Blackview costs €400 not €800, big difference.Yeah I know, but it's still absolutely not worth the underpowered performance for the flip design. The 7300X is far more capable.

Anyway, you get the point. Right?

Also good enough chipset for anything but gaming? On a device that costs over 800?

Samsung Flip 6 has like double the software support compared to motorola

Flip 6 is overall better than Razr 50. The only selling point for Razr is that its cheaper.

Yeah, the chipset is capable enough for most, unlike the likes of those others (sorry, blackview).
                      Definitely a pass.

So where can I find the version of the Razr 50 Ultra with two physical SIM slots?

"We're not particular fans of the overly 'digital' and processed look of detail - sharpening is excessive, random textures look artificial, straight lines have jaggies"

Weird. Not a problem when google and apple do it?

I bet some markets get it with ufs3.1.
Same way few edge phones have mixed storage types

And smaller outer screen like Razr 2022.
                                Enough to use without cutouts

Surprisingly good phone. Been using it to compare to a Samsung flip6 and I gotta say motorola won me over. I might get the Moto Razr+ on contract because how good this was. My mother loves her Razr 50, I though it would be bad like the cheap flips coming to the chinese markect but this is basically as good as a Samsung flip, just with a slower processor. and Midrange processors are fine for everyone but gamers now. I hope Motorola makes a fold phone now, Since the Pixels are good but overpriced for the tensors performance, samsung has a ugly UI and poor screen arrangment, and Oneplus fold isnt on TMobile since they stopped selling Oneplus.

The great battery capacity and good enough chipset for anything but gaming, names this a clear winner over Samsung.

I bought my Galaxy Flip 5, last week for 600€, brand new.
