Remember when people said: "Imagine what the Pixel 5 could do with a larger sensor". Well, not only the sensor got bigger, but also the processing power. Not to mention software improvements. It's a good phone - I tested it for a few minutes at Vodafone. Hoping to buy soon, at better price.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024Camera is insane! Easily stepping into DSLR territory.I don't think so somehow 😂 a midrange Google phone with not even a proper zoom and you think it's as good as a DSLR?? 🤣 Hilarious. No phone ever comes close to an expensive DSLR

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024Camera is insane! Easily stepping into DSLR territory. There are reviews that compare both and it's looking pretty good for the Pixel. Now, how thrustworthy those reviews are... is another story.

DeepIn2U, 03 Sep 2024Yikes! Look how FAT those borders are! I remember when ... moreAll the things are irrelevant. Cameras and fluent working with the phone is the most important. And that is exelent with Pixel 9.

                      Yikes!

Look how FAT those borders are! I remember when phones had that thickness the outcries were extreme!! I never got it then but seeing it in 2024 is an eyesore!

Also that camera bump looks like it belongs on a humpback whale! I'm black so saying this is big - no African woman's ass is THAT HUGE!

See what the heavy press photo shop pics did for the pixel vs REAL WORLD pictures?!! Yeah and that is just the hardware, imagine what you get with the software!!!

Just got a Pixel 9, from the Pixel 7a. It was less time for a new device than I prefer, but for a $400 carrier deal I had to upgrade just for the ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and I couldn't be more happy! The optical fingerprint reader on the 7a (and other models) sucks. I am worried about the camera glass, I suspect the Victus glass is not invulnerable, and it appears to be in a very vulnerable position.
I haven't messed around with the AI stuff yet but the UI is snappy and beautiful.

I bought a Pixel 8 (vanilla, not pro) in january and have to say I'm really disappointed. I have to add that I'm a long time Samsung galaxy user and switched to the pixel 8 from a S22 Ultra so I might be a bit biased. I knew I was trading down in some respects but I thought I was buying the iphone of the android world (i.e. the hardware-software integration, the updates etc.). Although a great phone in many respects, I was really let down by the software and not the hardware as I was expecting. I missed Samsung dex, I missed Samsung gallery (google photos being the dafault galary app is just... atrocius). Then I got affected by the screen issues (the infamous pink and green lines, the green flickering). So I decided to swith back to Samsung. Won't trust Googles devices ever again.

I just cannot fathom how they increase the size and weight of the phone year on year now. It's a tavisty. Give us an actual compact option!!

I had bought a camera lens protector to protect the camera glass and it has already broken within 4 days. This camera is begging to be broken.

For once I'm not too convinced with the Active Use Score in the battery test since historically (!) Tensors have inefficient modems. I know everyone has been saying the Pixel 9 is an improvement but it would be nice to have a quantified testing by someone as reputable as GSMArena....
