Damn, these RAM numbers are getting out of hand lol
There are actual computers with less RAM and work good. Do you need 50 open apps or what? lol
No phone needs that much, those are just bragging rights and so they can justify higher price. I'm convinced it doesn't work any faster than last years 12 GB version.

It has a better battery life than the Pro XL? Haha.
People complaining about the performance must be the .5% because Google will have optimised Android for this device. I had the Pixel 6 Pro and it ran fine for the two years i had it. No issues with performace at all.

Docktor, 20 Sep 2024You have never had a Pixel, dont you?Actually mate yeah I had a pixel 6 pro, absolutely hated it terrible battery life and very average screen. Cameras were good but it was very boring to use, almost no customisation and couldn't get rid of that bloody search bar on the home screen etc. Have a Oppo now, enjoy it was more than any other phone I've used

if this were an 800 or even a 900 dollar phone for the 256 gb model it'd have been acceptable. For 700 dollars it'd have been a good phone. But at 1000 dollars for the 128 gb model this is a bad, bad phone. It's like buying a Toyota Corolla for the price of a BMW 5 series.

How can they seriously expect to support these pixel 8 & 9's for 7 years of OS updates. It's crazy, the chipsets are hot messes that throttle already, which will degrade the batteries like crazy with heat, and they aren't even using the latest UFS 4.0 storage? It's gonna feel like using a samsung A06 if they push android 19 to these things, and that's a big if imo. Google have been known to go back on their word!

Oh my goodness.
This performance is absolutely unacceptable.
Peak performance is worser than all of its competitors.
And the sustained performance is basically non existing. This device comes crippled from the factory. Google are really selling defective devices here.

The main camera's facial rendering is on of the ugliest I have seen in phones, let alone flagships in recent years. Edge detection has also taken a step back.
It is pretty weird because the 5x and selfie renders are alright.

SoC slower than 8s Gen 3 and it throttled hard.. and the performance becomes like 7s Gen 2?
Pixel should use 7+ Gen 2, Pixel 5 uses 765G previously.

These peak and sustained performances once again show how terrible Tensor G4 is. Imagine having to choose between this and the new Qualcomm and Mediatek chips in a couple of months ... Absolute deal-breaker for the price
