I have problems of format, since who is buying phones that use 4:3 instead of the far better 3:2 we are used to in movies and 35mm? It is much better for dynamic composition and for reportage-type shots capturing movement.
And who is paying all this money for smartphones without any ability to shoot ultrawide panoramas? Must we continue, in the face of useless competition now, to be able to depend solely on the iPhones? Makes no sense at all.
These quad bayer machines only resolve 12.5 Megapixels as the 50 MP has to be divided by four, and this means my LG7 Thinq is STILL better on all counts bar the nightime shots. It dates from 2018, yet has a great deal more resolution being 16 real megapixels, not 12.5!

The new lyt 818 is built on a more expensive and advanced 22nm process while the old 900 was on a 40nm process node, It's a HUGE difference that easily covers for the smaller size and then some.

Using the X200 Pro now. In the Philippines (not sure with other region versions) the X200 Pro is available with e-sim plus option of 2 physical nano sim. But by using the e-sim you cannot use the 2nd physical sim slot. Base on the spec sheet in GSM Arena it never mentioned it has an e-sim option, maybe the China ROM version does not have e-sim. Not much to say that has not been mentioned by others. Great camera, not too heavy for the punch it brings to the table (the iPhone 15 Pro Max I used before this feels heavier). Not a fan of FunTouch OS though. Lacks features and customization vs say One UI. Its that FunTouch UI, for me at least, is the weak point of the phone.

Using the Vivo X200 pro global as we speak. Had it imported to the US. All day battery, check. Super quick processor, check. Big display, check. Fast charging, check. Closest camera to actually having a DSLR in your pocket, check. The only way I can explain this camera is, the pictures tell a story if that makes sense. It's just different compared to what Samsung, Google and iPhone currently put out. The competition doesn't take bad photos and will get the job done but, Vivo just makes you want to go out and take photos. The others are just a camera in your pocket for when you need it. That's the best way to explain this camera setup

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2024dcs leaks suggest they'll use the same sensor they use... moreI am disappointed by this... i have X90 Pro+ almost for two years, i didn't consider to buy X100 Pro or X200 Pro and not even X100 Ultra, just not to much of a big upgrade over X90 Pro+ camera wise, i want a bigger upgrade to buy a new phone and i thought X200 Ultra would be a such phone, but no, i want LYT-900, HP9 1/1.4" for zoom and LYT-818 for ultrawide, but since rumours says LYT-818 for main cam, no buy from me, but maybe rumours are wrong.

The Ultrasonic fingerprint reader still works, is compatible with the provided case and 3rd party ones I've tried. Only downside is the selfie camera takes a slight hit when strong light sources hit the screen, and it's quite pricey at ~$18 USD. I'm definitely replacing it with the same type if this one breaks at some point though, I don't like plastic protectors due to how easily they smudge.

I have made compromise to give up the 1 inch for a more complete Camera phone with this great 85mm prime lense with 1/1.4 sensor size. The head arrived thks evening and first impression is good. Hope I am not disappointed...

Which would be extremely disappointing, you can't beat physics, a 1 inch sensor will always be better than a 1/1.3. But the phone is still months away and I've personally seen that dcs isn't that reliable like with the nubia/redmagic leaks from a month ago that didn't turn out true like the 7+ inch display on the redmagic.

If I was Sony, I would make a 1 inch 64MP sensor.
1 inch and little bit more megapixels.
Or a 1 inch 108MP camera sensor or 1.5 inch 50MP camera sensor.
Hopefully Vivo X200 Ultra uses a 1 inch sensor for their main camera and Hopefully at least 200MP Telephoto Periscope camera sensor.
Upgraded 200MP sensor of course or the 320MP camera sensor.
3.7X zoom?
Nah.
3X zoom is better.
Little bit wider would be cooler.

After the 1 inch sensor, it's the biggest. it has more features, better EV
Besides, this one has an amazing telephoto
You could consider VIvo x100 Ultra but clearly not x100 Pro now that x200 Pro is out

captain-inch, 15 Nov 2024Does anybody know whether it is possible and realistic to u... moreI've been using my note 10 plus, which has the most curved display samsung has ever made, with spigen plastic screen protectors for the past 5 years, now I've went through like 4 because they'd start to peel off but my last one has been on for 2 years and it hasn't peeled of or anything yet. Not it has a wet installation method so maybe that plays a role. But yeah just go for a plastic screen protector and make sure it's not one of those bad ones that's cut on the sides leaving the curves exposed.

Tbh, I am kinda dissapointed (but expected) to learn that x200 mains are inferior to the x100 Ultra/Pro's main. No matter how much the marketing boosting shits, they just cant beat the law of physic - bigger is better. I think they realised they made a mistake to gave the Pros 1 inch, now they retracted it.
If I can convince myself of the lease eye-care screen of x100 Pro, I will probably just go for the previous gen...unless they launch the Pro Mini and I will reconsider due to the form factor
