Its a little shame that u cant change to 24fps on standard video and even cannot change resolution and fps on pro video mode

    Details are completely messed up on this year's Find X8 and Find X8 PRO. Look at this photo: https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_find_x8-review-2767p5.php#image14, especially the arm. Skin texture is that super weird Midjourney-like pattern. It's the same on the shirt and if you look close, you can spot the same on the other photos. All of the small details do not look natural at all, because it seems that they are not natural. :(

      Pre booked find x8 12/256 for $620 in India. Great deal to be honest, considering I only need the phone two have 2great things, one is software and the other one being camera.

        Everything is great except the ui👎🏻

          Oddly enough, the regular Find X8 has less PWM flickering than the X8 Pro. I found this out myself by using my phone camera with the shutter speed set to 1/4000 - Find X8 has few thin lines running across the display (low flicker), while the Find X8 Pro has several thick black lines (high flicker).

          So if you're worried about eyestrain, the regular Find X8 is a better choice over the Find X8 Pro.

            Rohan, 23 Nov 2024How are the Haptics?I'm using an old Oppo Find X5 and love the haptics on it. Integrated so well in ColorOS. When you reach Max volume, when you push the volume buttons, you get this little buzz. Same when you swipe down to see the settings, you feel it. Very nice haptics. So I bet the X8 series are at least on par.

                  They're literally no games that utilize even current Gen SoCs, what about Elite/9400. And honestly all discussion about emulation of other platforms is nonsense. Windows laptops , Nintendo consoles and so on cost nothing, compared to Android flagships, while offering obviously tremendous difference in power and usage.

                  IMHO nothing justifies buying flagship. Camera included.

With each gene... moreHopefully its just a initial issue and they figure out before moving to 2nm and 1 nm nodes if that's even possible. If its an inherent problem with node shrinkage I'd say we must taper our expectations further.

                    On the other hand I wonder why qualcomm/ mediatek doesnt try to make chips that consume lower power while targetting a performance profile...

                    For example 8+ gen 1/ 8 gen 2 performance at 3-4w or lower instead of usual 6w+ of peak power consumption?

                      I'm guessing it has to do with higher base power consumption at lowest frequency on A7xx cores compared to A5xx cores

Additionally, Oppo's processing is more mature. These are pre-production shots. Oppo's photos are horrible till around 1-2 weeks post launch. The Find X7 Ultra took worse shots than the S24 Ultra at first, now it's on par with the X100 Ultra/14 Ultra

                              " Pretty good battery life" . Maybe in another universe, not this one.

                              About 5700 mAh and just 14h.
                              Should be at least 16:30h ..

                                When and where to the EU version will come?

                                  I quickly went to the Real GT7 Pro review because GSMArena didn't mention the versatility of it's camera, but on this review (competition section) they had this to say👇🏽:

                                  "Realme has an interesting flagship in the GT 7 Pro. It is rocking the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Plus, you get excellent build quality and ingress protection, a great 120Hz, LTPO AMOLED display, a large battery (though you should check your local version for the exact capacity) and a comparable and versatile camera setup with a 3x telephoto".

                                  Now l don't know.

                                    I think 4 nm was the last stop before major complications

None have gone with imx882/lyt600 this year. Phone companies in China have analyzed the use of the cameras by Chinese consumers and found that the ultrawide was by far the least utilized camera sensor so they seem to be giving up on the idea of a good ultrawide at least in all but their ultra models. Even Nubia who had the best ultrawide last year with the awesome OV50E have replaced that with the OV50D

                                        Weirdest year for Android camp, usually we get a clear winner but this year its more complicated

                                        8 elite
                                        Pros : Wins in CPU benchmarks, has a better compatibility with games, better standby compared to dimensity
                                        Cons: Runs hot (in devices tested so far), expensive, poor stability, higher active use battery drain

                                        9400
                                        Pros: cheaper, second to 8elite in CPU, Wins in GPU benchmarks, runs cooler, good efficiency in active use. Better stability than 8 elite.
                                        Cons: less optimised in games, higher standby drain.

                                        Hopefully next generation of chips perfom better and correct these flaws. Waiting for dimensity 9500/ 8 elite gen 2 or whatever its called.
