They were implying that there are good LCDs with good brightness and contrast, unlike the cheap LCDs used for rugged phones.
But in your twisted mind, you decided to accuse them as an "OLED fanboy" because mUh ChEaP mEdIoCrE oLeD sCrEeN bAd.
The tomfoolery is strong within you lol.

Everyone knows that IPS LCD always wins in a direct IPS vs OLED comparison.
OLED is mediocre at best, IPS LCD is the best display technology out there on the market. PERIOD. Everyone who says something else is a troll or a paid agent.

Why is it that all or most of those rugged phones that are supposed to be used mainly outdoors have subpar screens? Low brightness, low contrast. Shame.
That said, the rest looks decent to very good, given the design and intended use.

These comment sections reliably mock the iterative flagship ranges of Apple and Samsung, not always unfairly. But those years of iteration generally do at least produce genuine subtle improvement over time, including and perhaps especially on the software side.
Obviously the rugged phone market is an entirely different one altogether, but this... This is what happens when that polish doesn't happen. You get a phone with a 2010-spec 4.7" 720p LCD that can't even outlast 6.7" 1440p flagships with smaller batteries.

If it was made by Xiaomi, it would have at least 8000 mAh battery with that thickness. Even more with si/ca battery.
