Pumpino, 11 Dec 2024Slower charging, outdated software, an underwhelming camera... morethe only xiaomi phones worth buying now are the poco f series and the main series with the caveat that you should get the previous year's flagship at a steep discount after a new one is released(and I'm still angry about how the custom rom scene for all android phones except pixels just died)

"Xiaomi is also promising four years of fluency"
what is the purpose of this vague claim? did the author make it up? almost any midrange phone remains usable for 4 years with or without any updates

I feel these hands on reviews on Indian releases are more 'real' and less 'sugar coated' than the full reviews.

The key selling point of this phone is the camera set up. If you want better chip and lose camera then go for Poco.

HyperOS needs to be more optimized, it's still too buggy, especially the RAM managemnt is horrible in chinese hyperOS. Moreover, notification issue is a pain in the ass. Xiaomi is really dissappointing us, plz fix all the issues with hyperOS, otherwise people will have to avoid your hyperS*it

Kinda prblematic what Redmi Note 14 Pro+ put UFS 2.2 and LPDDR4x for lower end config. And its too expensive

Xiaomi is a past. I rly don't understand why people buying them. In first years they offered best for money can get. Now, they offer lesser then others for same or even higher price. Not to mention most unstable Hyper os, which drag user experience compared to others. Now they even removed charger in the box for global users, except Asia. So what is Xiaomi advantage now? Nothing.

Please test if the phone has aptx lossless. It is easy. If you can set it to aptX Adaptive on 44.1 kHz sampling rate and 16-bit depth, than aptx lossless is present. Easy, right? Then do it with every Snapdragon smartphone! Ffs we live in the age of bluetooth headphones (and dozens of them already support aptx lossless). Yet regarding soud quality you spend the time only on loudspeaker.

It still has a plastic frame. So no for me

Still the same, cr@ppy 8 MP UWA cam, which is 4+ years old - this cam was already into my Redmi Note 9 Pro from March 2020, it does seem to be. I wished for at least the 12/13 MP UWA cam from the Xiaomi 13T/Pro, from last year. Unexciting. I say this as using Xiaomi phones since the Note 3 Pro.

Slower charging, outdated software, an underwhelming camera and a weak chip. Xiaomi should have used a more powerful MediaTek chip and used the savings to keep the faster charging. Not off to a good start when a device looks bad on paper.

Whoever created this idea of s series chips should be banned.

7 and 7s Gen offer similar performance. However 7+ offers nearly 50% higher performance.

Then 7s are essentially previous gen low end garbage chips which are rechristened to sell them to unsuspecting customers.

There should be only one chip one generation. 3 or 4 series for low end, 5 or 6 series for mid end, 7 series for upper midrange and flagship killers and 8 series for flagship.

One processor name, one Gen no more s and + version naming crap.
