I couldn't find any mention of esim in a number of OnePlus regional websites. If there is indeed esim support, I'll be sure to let the editors know.

With $1000 there are much better options. OnePlus should focus on what made them popular in the first place—delivering affordable flagship killers.

I can't believe that gsmARENA make a mistake. OnePlus Support says, its definitely support eSIM.
I thought always, gsmArena was reliable...

In the verdict section they forgot to mention how despite having similar camera performance to the non pro find x8 and x200, the price is closer to the pro variants of those phones. This phone would have been amazing at 800 dollars/euros, but instead the r variant is selling for that price, at least in my country. But it might go on sale for that amount in 6 months or something, so maybe then it would be a good buy.

Oh and the global variants usually have different camera processing, primarily for human subjects.

Why would I waste the time buying regular sim on the airport? I used to use esim,me but native support on my Samsung phone is much better. I just dont get it, what is wrong with those Chinese producers? I was ready to buy Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but without esim it is worthless ...

Despite on paper ultra spec, weak telephoto and lowlight performance still make this base flagship tier but a hundred dollars more

EUcitizen, 08 Jan 2025Another "flagship" without e-sim, lol. Isn't e-sim quite popular in the US, which is a OnePlus market? Can't believe they'd skimp out on e-sim support if they plan to sell in the US.

Man, I been wanting to upgrade my 7T but OP has been trash lately, especially their promos. I hate how they have stop dropping the price and just added dumb gifts like eadbuds or their watch. I don’t want any of that, give me a price discount.

This was confirmed to me by a Customer Service representative at Oppo.

Akthanakos, 07 Jan 2025So true, lately all gsmarena reviews are basically a glorif... moreYeah, they never were at netbookcheck level but they were nicely written and comprehensive enough, with welcome focus on software.

Nowadays they skimp on that and don't bother to check the simplest things. Take my phone, Honor 200pro - the portrait mode is absolutely killing it for general photography but gsmarena just focused on bokeh for some reason. Also if they bothered to take more than 3 regular shots in it they'd have realised phone sometimes decides against adding bokeh when it would look too artificial (pretty neat IMO)

More substantially, they also falsely claimed that phone has no desktop mode, when in fact it has Dex-like wireless desktop mode which is absolutely on par with Samsungs solution, if not a bit better thanks to more comprehensive built-in documents app...

Luke, 07 Jan 2025So to me it seems that: 1. SD Elite really delivers what... moreSD 8 Elite does really deliver in terms of efficiency. Yet it still hits higher peak consumption but how often are you going to push the phone like that.
Even then, one could lower the frequencies (when rooted of course) to match SD 8gen3 or just go a bit higher than that, it will still have more performance and will be more efficient.
So SD 8 Elite is a win win.
