The best budget device that has great sound quality is the infinix note 30 even though its from 2023. It offers relatively balanced and bass heavy sound that is best suited for music listening, especially if you trigger the bass and music option from the jbl sound setting, its successor note 40 however sounds thin, ideal for gaming and video playback but not for music. Although both have low speaker loudness
3rd best is Redmi note 13. It has cleaner less distorted sound than note 30 but lacks bass.
4th best is Tecno Spark series, apparently they all sound very similar.

The best from entry level series is tecno spark go 1. Nothing fancy but sterero, so it helps.

While Xiaomi's entry level A series has some of the worst sounding phones i have ever listened to (for example Redmi a3). Not only they lack in loudness but all of them sound horrible

Miracle King, 01 Jan 2025That's the LOUDNESS rating, not the sound QUALITY rating.Exactly, I miss a sound quality test, but it's always a loudness test.

I'd be far more interested in the headphones sound quality of those smartphones and tablets that still have a headphone jack.

So bias summary. They didn't even test the quality. Just loudness rating. It's no way ipad 11m4 can match ipad 11m3, lenovo tab plus or huawei matepad pro 12 interm of sound.

That list is very unique but why did they choose to test the loudness of a phone's speakers and not it's sound quality because if you get high loudness and low quality the sound won't be clear and it won't be pleasent to hear it so I see that it's better to test both loudness and quality of a phone's speakers

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro I Think Is Best

I guess for tablets GSMArena haven't tested the Lenovo Tab Plus yet. Speakers on that are absolutely amazing.

Another thing. Why is the ZFold6 The Best Speaker in Foldable Phones when it’s rated as good? Motorola Razer 50 Ultra is rated excellent.

Apple think it’s cool to put way better speakers on the Pro Max than the Pro. Thanks Apple (even though the speaker is better than the S24 Ultra)

Through my Kefine Klean iems, the Magic6 Pro and Nord 4 sound awesome as well

Would you pick a phone based solely on sound quality of the speaker? Why not use a bluetooth speaker for it?

Niku, 01 Jan 2025Fun fact: Asus ROG Phone 7 family still is the undisputed k... moreAs a rog 7 user, i can confirm that rog phone series definitely should be on top of the list. This list is joke.

Smallworld, 01 Jan 2025I still don't understand why GSMA equates loudness to ... moreYou're right and make perfect sense. A loud phone doesn't have to be the "best sounding" as the title suggests.
They're giving frequency charts as well so this brings some clarity to the table, still not enough though.

Its pretty tough to evaluate loudspeaker output because we also evaluate the microphone that is recording the speaker, in a way. And not all microphones behave the same as human ears.

A comment behind mine also says the same thing: A Xiaomi 14 sounds better than iPhone Pro Max but its brilliance is not visible in the rankings.

Not having the Xiaomi 14/14 Ultra as the best ones in each class automatically disqualifies this list for me. The most pristine FR in their respective classes and also the phones with the least distortion.

The Xiaomi's speakers attract me more than their cameras, THAT'S how good these speakers are. I have listened to the iPhone Pro Max speakers (12 PM, 13 PM and 14 PM sound the same as each other and also the same as new ones imo), they distort heavily at higher volumes and look at the horrendous 500 hz dip on the 16 Pro Max/16 Plus and compare that to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Leaps and bounds ahead of the iPhone, through and through and in actual samples it sounds even better, not to mention the basically complete lack of distortion.

I still don't understand why GSMA equates loudness to speaker quality????

A speaker can be loud but with a poor quality and screeching sound. It's so weird.
