The s24 and s24 plus sound so bad with absolutely no bass at all. Its wild how you guys are even able to let it slide. Same with their 8bit screens.

Fun fact: Asus ROG Phone 7 family still is the undisputed king of smartphone speakers, especially when paired with its dedicated built-in subwoofer cooler, which casually demolish nearly every tablets in quality region
Then followed by the 9 fam which basically the same, except downgraded a bit (still #2 anyway), L that GSMArena didn't even bother to test the 9 with its built-in subwoofer cooler
TLDR they clowned us by simply slapped everything into it but the 9 ✌️

For flagships I think it has to be the Honor magic 7 pro (at least this is by far the best of the Chinese non gaming flagships). Getting back towards the quality of the Xiaomi 10s which had similar awesome symmetrical speakers. Maybe that will be a competitor for this year though as it will only get the global launch this year

In the phones I've used, iPhone 16 Pro Max and Xperia 1VI have best speakers.

Most useless article of the year already.
Gsmarena still thinks, that we gather around a smartphone with our close ones to listen to the latest hits/movies. Apart from calling, which you do not even test, we do not care about it at all.
This is the age of Bluetooth. Yet you do not test which codecs are present on the device and how is the end result.
Jack is gone. So please update your testing finally and get to the relevant stuff. It is the first day of 2025. A good day, to better yourselves.

Why is the ROG Phone 9 not included in the flagships list? With some treble boost in the Audio Wizard, it easily beats others in this list. Listen especially in track 5 and 7, the ROG Phones are basically the only ones to actually produce the bass notes. I tuned mine to have a basically flat response from 180Hz to 12kHz at 75% volume.
Also, I personally really like the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. It's loud, clear, and warm without any distortion whatsoever. The Xperia 1 VI is extremely loud and full-bodied, but suffers from compression artifacts. In my opinion, the S24 Ultra is too thin sounding - it has too much treble.

Hanif Fikri, 01 Jan 2025Iphone is the last one since I couldn't adjust equaliz... moreMy words. You can tune basically any Android to sound great if you take yourself some time. PowerAmp EQ is great.

How do you put Honor in the best phone in the middle class this phone has when it is not balanced in sound and quality in terms of speakers The left is weaker than the right I don't know, you might be driven to say humiliation

Iphone is the last one since I couldn't adjust equalizer so when I adjust android phones equalizer it turns out to be huge difference plus can combo with Poweramp equalizer app(EQ apps on iOS doesn't exist)..all these phone speaker comparisons are in default/factory settings..

The article writer needs to explain better the methodology of the tests in the introduction of the article.

Microphone quality and performance in high SPL situations is important to me, is there anything GSMarena can say about the best microphones in smartphones?
