Canard, 23 Jan 2025Strange... am I the only one in the world who's excite... moreJust read any comments section of this site to see plenty of examples of people getting upset that others don’t share their views. It’s nothing new here.
It’s not a massive upgrade over its predecessor no. Anyone that does swap from the 24U though will have their own reasons and justifications though, and should probably just not give a stuff what the talking heads on this site say about it. I’m getting one, but then I’m coming from an iPhone, so there are plently of differences anyway 🤷

These yearly models are getting more boring than ever. They really should revamp everything rather than small upgrades here and there.

s25 flop, 23 Jan 2025biggest flop ever. you buy S24 Ultra with almost the same s... morethat won't happen unfortunately. Previous time Samsung bought back all S23Ultras from stores when they released S24Ultra. I don't know if that would happen now, but S24U is almost at the same price as S25Ultra everywhere currently.. Doubt they will let us get 24 for cheap and ignore their "innovations"

Canard, 23 Jan 2025Strange... am I the only one in the world who's excite... more" I'm not a fan of AI and I'll probably end up not using it or disabling it. It's not a seller for me."
That is for me the biggest question/concern. I'm not sure how much bloatware/spyware there will be and what battery and perf drain we can expect from that ... let's put it "nonsense of AI".
Watching the presentation I saw one useful feature only - text transcript of a call in SNotes. But that is all. I don't need AI to read my agenda, which I see on widget in front of me. And AI obviously won't be able to know when your favorite game has an event/drop or when your sport club has a change in schedule, local store offers smth just now for you..
And imagine all your device searching, indexing, inspecting, analyzing any bit of data possible for ..bixbi, google assistant, gemini and God knows what else..
I'm not sure what to say - obviously all phones in 2025 will come with all AI possible crap , but..without huge battery, lots of RAM/Flash resources and huge processing power... idk..I'm concerned..need to see tech reviews and see how much we can disable from what we don't use

The headline price hasn't changed but whereas Samsung previously offered a £200 trade-in for any phone, this year they're only offering £50, and no freebies bar the memory upgrade. So an unattractive deal for dated hardware. I'll pass this year. Or go for a different brand.

Let's expect the S26 until S30 series to have no major improvements at all. They have been selling the same phone since s10. Samsung has lost its will to be innovative since it lost to Huawei.

Big yawn to Samsung. They could have just labeled these as Galaxy S21(2025). Losing to Huawei years ago made them dull.

Wow Great news...now we have a device that records your every keystroke, scans every picture taken, listens non stop, stores all location....basically knows everything about you. all for some perceived convenience in the form of AI. Lol
Things were getting bad but now in 2025 its finally time to say Goodbye to privacy.

Strange... am I the only one in the world who's excited by this version?
I've got the s23 ultra and frankly I wasn't thrilled with the s24 ultra at the time, which I felt lacked something.
The s25 ultra is what I felt was missing from the s24 Ultra... the look has a lot to do with it (I think it's totally magnificent). As for the interior, as I use the ultrawide very often, 50 MPX is really what I was looking for.
The processor is very good too.
I'm not a fan of AI and I'll probably end up not using it or disabling it. It's not a seller for me.
I see a lot of unhappy people but is that because the phone doesn't move enough since the s24U?

Again, telephoto as the second most important camera remains the same as it was for years.
Shame on you, Samsung.

Seeing Samsung release the same phone for the fifth year in a row made the GSMArena server overload with laughter. 🤣

unfortunately, s25 is a rebranded s22. I see no upgrades except the regular SoC upgrade. new software and AI features will roll on to all older models in a month.

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2025With Samsung you do at least get way better software and supportThat's what I thought too, because that's what the advertising claims from every side. But it's not quite true. I left Samsung last year because it refused to accept the warranty repair of the display, which broke on its own, through no fault of mine. From being angry with Samsung, I switched to VIVO made in India and the Funtouch15 UI is excellent. It is as good as Samsung UI7 and VIVO hardware and AI is quite better. Now I wouldn't trade for S.....

This presentation by Samsung about the "innovations" of the S 25 series, if I weren't sure it was real, could be considered the biggest trolling in its history.
