The S-Pen is still part of the Ultra, but it no longer supports Bluetooth. This means no more air actions and no more remote camera shutter.
Samsung this is really bad ... get it updated to support it

Eduard33, 31 Jan 2025Other than Apple and Google everyone else is at 6000mah or ... moreYou sure about that?
Sony is at 5000mah
Motorola is at 5000mah
Nothing is at 5000mah
Honor is at 5270mah for Europe.
ASUS and Huawei are under 6000mah.

xPandamon, 31 Jan 2025Buddy, you good? All of the ones upvoting this, so you guys... moreGSMArena changed the values. The S25U has way lower overall battery values the first time I saw this review. Those people also saw it too and they're not wrong. IDK why the values have changed. I made sure that the parameters have been resetted before I made the comment.

I'm not a big fan of having the ultimate Samsung Ultra every year it comes out, to me S25 Ultra is appalling. So, they did a poll about the bluetooth connectivity of the S pen, and some say they don't use it, I find it pretty handy on my S24 Ultra which I plan to stick with it as long as it works and with 7 mayor OS updates it's a keeper as long as it don't stop working for another reason. So, If you have an older phone say like S20, S21, S22 or even older that would be a major update for you.

Yeah, you're the other side of the coin in the never ending battle of lab vs reality testing.
Whenever someone comes up with somewhat comparable testing environment, one side cries that it has nothing to do with reality and values aren't real.
So then they come up with testing very close to real life, and the other side of this pointless debate starts crying each test like that is not repeatable under comparable circumstances, therefore its results don't allow for comparison between phones.
The same happened with lab gas mileage testing vs WLTP. Everyone whined average consumption achieved in lab has nothing to do with real life, because of unrealistic conditions. So they came up with WLTP - now people are whining summer vs winter gas consumption is different, traffic is not always the same, yadda yadda. The point of lab tests was not to provide real-life value, but comparable environment to see how different engines and cars perform under the same conditions. Not good enough? They came up with WLTP, now everyone's moaning non-repeatable conditions that skew results on way or the other.
At this point everyone should just ignore both of your whining and carry on because there's no pleasing any of you, ever.
The rest of us - with enough brain cells cobbled together to allow for critical, analytical thinking - take these with a pinch of salt, understanding that everyone's daily routine, cell coverage and habits are different, so there is margin for difference against lab tests, while also appreciating repeatable (but only to a degree) conditions of lab tests as more-or-less accurate comparison between different products. It's never 100% real world accurate, because no phone testing site will come to your house (or any of the other hundreds of thousands of houses) to test under your special snowflake life conditions. And it's never 100% reliably repeatable, because it's physically impossible to provide testing conditions that factor in all variables, including those out of control of the testing crew.

xPandamon, 31 Jan 2025So what, now battery capacity suddenly is uninteresting and... moreWrong again. Difference is more than 20% in web browsing even with more efficient panel and even compared to other 1440p phones and panel and some other things doesn't make up lower capacity against others with same chipset in video playback. What I mentioned about calls is that without their increase it would be in lower 14h. The panel advantage will shrink in the future as emissive efficiency gets upped.

vik457, 31 Jan 2025Well you don't know what priorisation I meant, it'... moreSo what, now battery capacity suddenly is uninteresting and just the chip is important when making comparisons? I just added a bunch of 8 Elite phones, some beat it, others didn't. Same for the browsing weakness. But that's when comparing phones with 6000 mAh or more to the S25 Ultra. Leveling the field, the S25 Ultra lasts the longest, even with the current results, it hangs in there very, very well and won't cause anyone trouble

Xiaomi has had battery life issues for years, that's why I did not get one of their phones again after my 9T Pro. Also for the camera, give and take. In the last years camera upgrades in general have been quite stale, outside of stuff like nighttime photography where the S25 Ultra will easily best the Xiaomi you have

And I mentioned with the same chipset, it doesn't beat two other phones in video playback despite either more efficient panel or better video engine optimisation/ other consumption factors. alski10, 31 Jan 2025Care to explain what you are talking about? Yeah no problem. The S25U Ultra uses a better M13 panel, instead of the new M14 most other phones use. The M14 uses other materials for better longetivity and better efficiency. However the M13+ this phone uses also improved upon the old M13 panel so it may be just as efficient, just different in composition. The only thing we can say for sure is that the graininess from the S24 Ultra is fixed and that Samsung improved their LTPO-tech further. Long story short, the M14 may sound newer and better because of the higher number, but in the end when you compare phones, you wouldn't ever be able to tell what precise panel each phone uses.

vik457, 31 Jan 2025And it beat none of phones in video playback with same chip... moreDude a this point you are straight up lying. The OnePlus and the iPhone beat it for video playback. The rest didn't last as long. I don't know if you are dyslexic and can't read the numbers correctly, but if I add the phones the other guy mentioned (Vivo X200 Pro, Oppo X8 Pro, Oneplus 13), only the OnePlus outperforms it. Also gaming tests like all other tests here are all normed. Just admit that the S25 Ultra battery is not as bad as some of you would have liked to see and go on with your day. Also, adding your laughing reaction does not help you look any better. It only shows your refusal to take anything seriously.

Disappointing release but expected. Samsung goes for the major change every 3 iterations. S20U, 21U and 22U were close siblings. S23U, 24U and 25U had incremental improvements over each other. Time will tell if Sammy will raise the bar on the S26U or not.

Samsung is literally taking the piss, having a laugh, a company that came out with innovation with notes and s6 curve display . Now taking features and planing to charge customers to be able to use their phones .
Anybody remember big NOKIA ?
anybody remember HTC ?
Companies sometimes forget the real Boss is us the customers.
There wasn't a single picture I took with the s24 ultra that was better than my oppo x7 ultra.
And I am sure s25 ultra is not going to beat oppo x8 ultra .
