When GSMA reported that S22 Ultra's charging speed remained the same between 22W and 45W chargers, I was asking a question to another user and got a reply from them that GSMArena might have been using an older version of the 45W charger (EP-T845) instead of the newer one (EP-T4510) which "supports super-fast charging 2.0 and throttles less" - The results looked quite off me and I was suspecting that there was something wrong with the test back then as well.
I wasn't aware of Pixel's fast-charging situation, and obviously I can't defend anyone when I don't even know about a controversy🤷♂️
"Also, oppo should make clear that speed is capped if charger is not oppo's"
They do, they state a secondary power output mode right on the charger itself (5V 2A from what I can tell from an image).

In spite of stellar review throughout, it only managed to get a 4.5 star rating. Same as what you all gave the Samsung Fold 6 a 4.5 star rating. Seems that there's a bias towards Samsung as this phone is clearly superior to Samsung's.

My 45W adapter stopped working after 1 year as well. Been using an anker one for 1.5 years with no issues.

Everyone wants to see this leader DO SOMETHING instead of be safe. Tiny incremental changes and trying to sell AI is not an industry leader innovating. Lots of users here clown them and pray for their downfall because they are doing nothing as the leader. Hopefully the Find N5 inspires them... actually do something.

more people handwringing over charging speed and si-c battery specs. Compare the x200 pro to the s24u. The bigger capacity x200 lasts about an hour twenty longer. It reaches full charge 11 minutes faster. It isn't worth getting excited over or even commenting on.

Find N5 is basically the pinnacle of all the phone tech we have right now, foldables, at least. The materials, the screen, the batteries, the hinge. Everything is the latest. The most refined foldable on the market. And people are fussing about whether or not it charges at 80w 100% of the time. Good grief.

jiyen235, 21 Feb 2025As if your beloved Scamsung charges at top speed at all. No... moreNot only is there better cooling in Chinese phones, which helps with fast battery charging. But for example, with the SuperVooc technology of 1+ and Oppo, a large part of the heat that should be released during fast charging is released by the adapter. And I can confirm it visually. I own 3 80 watt SuperVooc adapters, and several 67+ adapters from Xiaomi. With the Xiaomi adapters, which are not with the 1+ technology, my phone heats up significantly, so I don't use them. With the SuperVooc adapter, my 1+ rises no more than 4-5 degrees when charging and browsing same time, but the adapter heats up.

Sony, LG , TCL, Philips and Panasonic make better tvs.
LG has better ACs.
Electrolux has better kitchen appliances.
Samsung galaxy : slower than phones with same SoC, poor calibrated screen, too much bloatware, ugly, cheap feel ..
Used 3 brands: samsung, sony and Motorola.
Samsung and Apple? Not even for free. Never again.

The location matters, right?
Now want to blame cable, when it is not.
Also, oppo should make clear that speed is capped if charger is not oppo's , even if it is 80W too.
125W Motorola charger connect to oppo phone cannot even pass 15W for example.

Zuzuz, 21 Feb 2025Those numbers, 80, 120w, represent the capacity of the char... moreNo. Stop making excuses too .
When brand says charging is 20W, that value is maximum supported by the device, no matter the charger. There are even older Motorola phones that support 15 but came with 20W charger.
Obviously no phone is going to keep max the whole process. Majority slows down after 50%. At least some phones reach the peak for couple minutes. Chinese phones do not. That is the point.
None of them should advertise speed that cannot be reached. Not even for a second. If peak is 65, cannot be advertised as 80, 90 or 100.
It is about deceiving clients. Hard to understand?

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2025" just because it's rated for 80W doesn't me... moreAs if your beloved Scamsung charges at top speed at all. No phone really reaches the top end of the wattage. It's rated to hit that at its maximum, its limit.
The Oneplus 12 for example charges faster to 100% than the S25 Ultra does to 70%, with a larger battery, yet its 100W charger peaks at 72.8W. It's not false advertising, that's literally how chargers work.
You just demonstrated your ignorance and lack of knowledge. Typical Scamsung fanboy.
Additionally, rated wattage doesn't matter, the final speed does. It'd have been false advertising if the phones were advertised as 0-100 in 20 mins but did it in 30 mins but that's not the case, i don't really get buffoons like you, making idiotic points.
And finally, yeah fast charging generates heat but that's why dual cell designs are used on phones with fast charging otherwise they charge at the same rate as the S25 Ultra, case in point the X200 Pro vs the S25 Ultra. Moreover, the Chinese phones have demonstrably better cooling than other phones so getting hot won't matter if the heat is dissipated well as well. The S24 Ultra hits peak temps similar to the Find X7 Ultra yet charges significantly slower. So your point about fast charging generating heat is a moot one, as Samsung essentially gets just as hot as its Chinese competitors with slower charging.
