I was waiting for it to come to USA to buy it, but OnePlus management is marketing themselves out of USA market with their marketing decisions. Our only hope (in USA) is if T-Mobile decides to sell it in USA like they did with the OnePlus 7T-Pro 5G when OnePlus decided not to sell that model on USA at that time. (OnePlus only sold the 4G 7-Pro model at that time. The 7T-Pro 5G model was a T-Mobile exclusive phone).

Hopefully Oppo decides to sell them in USA directly (instead of selling it under the OnePlus name) to establish themselves in USA even if that means taking OnePlus brand out of the USA market.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2025" just because it's rated for 80W doesn't me... moreThe charger is most definitely capable of delivering 80W charging as they clearly state the maximum output near the plug (11V at 7.7A), which they can't lie about as that would straight-up violate the regulations. However, if, for whatever reason, they decided to include a cable that can only handle lower wattage, it would be capped there and wouldn't reach 80W despite both the charger and the phone being compatible with 80W charging.

Other factors could harm charging speed to a varying degree, too - If a USB tester was used to measure the output wattage, that could become a potential bottleneck and hamper the charging speed directly.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2025So, that is your excuse to justify another fake marketing. ... moreThose numbers, 80, 120w, represent the capacity of the charger, or just a peak performance. That 45w stated by Samsung it's just a peak, usually charging with less than half of the declared "speed".
Overall, chinese phones are charging much quicker than Samsung or Apple, at least twice as fast.

[deleted post]Like I care about their trash products.
              I used samsung as example.

I know all phones after certain % , slow down the charging speed.
But at least other brands can reach the advertised for while.
              Chinese phones never.
              This is the issue.

When ppl found out pixel ( I think 7 series) had peak 21W but google claimed 30, people here were ultra offended.
Same situation that now gets freen pass based on where brand is from.

So, you admit fast charging generates lots of heating. Wow, finally!!
Fanboys will be 🤬 at you. LOL !!

Then , do not advertise 80W. Simple.
                It is indeed false advertising.
Clients do think they are charging at 80W. And it does not happen for even a second.

Look at the Mate XT for example, it has a triple cell battery yet it charges at 66W. It's not Chinese brands scamming or cheaping out, it's literally done so that we don't get a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco 2.0.

Probably the first foldable that I personally find interesting.
                    I really like the design.

                        Basically ppl here:

Samsung deceives clientes: - Scamsung, always fooling ppl 🤬 !!
Chinese brand deceives clientes: - Please, fool me more 😍!!

the battery numbers look kinda mid here but in practice it's leagues better than the Z Fold6. Tom The Tech Chap and TechNick have excellent battery tests on their channels and I trust TechNick's tests the most online.

That 3x is great and the UW cam is disappointing as expected.

Yes, the cameras were dailed down.
Yes, it uses 7 instead of 8 CPU cores.
But, it's still an amazing piece of technology, fitting in a 3x periscope lens in a form factor that is thinner than that of Samsung's foldable.
Samsung will lose it sooner than they imagine!

                              Great job, Oppo!

Chinese foldables lately have become very slim and also durable, with advanced batteries, meanwhile Samsung can't even make a regular bar sized flagship phone that can handle a few drops without breaking

Can't wait for this phone to be released in Indonesia, hopefully soon since they already passed local TKDN requirements.
