Xiaomi has as much bloatware as Samsung, pixels and any other android brand so this was just a really bad way to try look funny and "cool" with a terrible false joke, gg.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 20251400€ for a phone with 4 years of OS updates, and filled wi... moreXiaomi's flagships don't have nearly as much bloat ware as the lower end models and you can easily uninstall most of them of force them to stop. There, problem solved
And let's be honest, if it wasn't for Samsung and Google introducing 7 years of OS updates, you would've still thought that 4 years is pretty good. Not only that, but literally most people will change their smartphones after 3-4 years.

The internet is full of comparisons and it's better to draw your own conclusions. For example, I prefer blind tests, like this one:

Or best of all, try the phone yourself in a store.
It's a shame that the reviews are made only based on the standard settings of the phones. I would really like to have reviews where photos of Flagships are compared with settings made by professional photographers, so that we can understand the real qualities and capabilities of the phones.

American centric reviewers are going to have a fit when they can't name iPhone Pro Max or Galaxy S Ultra as phone of the year.

Avoid the global version
Has only 5410mAh
Google dialer icon is white instead of green
No HyperOS 2.1 pre installed
Sets default font to Roboto instead of Mi Sans
GET THE CHINA VERSION FOR BETTER SPECS!

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2025Rx100 has Type 1.0 as well. Very old sensor by the way .
... moreCanon's ultra-thin FF 28mm F2.8 lens uses moulded plastic aspherical elements to achieve a thin profile. Results? It delivers excellent corner-to-corner sharpness, has no problem with handling flare, and its bokeh looks pleasant enough (at least for what you expect from a wide angle F2.8 lens). It's one of the highest quality pancake lenses available in the market at the moment, and while Sony and Nikon have a similar offering (APS-C 20mm F2.8 for Sony, 26mm F2.8 for Nikon, respectively), they are not even remotely close in terms of the overall image quality.
Plastic elements are usually more suitable if you want to bend lights in a complex way in a small package because it's significantly easier to manufacture them. Glass is slightly more transparent, more damage resistant and has a higher refractive index in general. It's nonsensical to compare RX100's lens to smartphone lenses because the former is a zoom while the latter are prime, although I don't really understand where you got the information that RX100's lens is "higher quality" to begin with.

OPPO on their website and promotional materials for the find X7 ultra clearly state the telephoto as 65mm, not 70mm. Xiaomi states it as 100mm. The customers are told the exact focal length

- Excellent battery life surpassing a lot of other phones with a larger battery capacity, which is good to see from Xiaomi given that they have been falling behind BBK and Samsung in this regard for many years now.
- It's disappointing that their flagship phone, once again, instead of throttling down the chip to keep it cool, pushes it to the point where it overheats and decides to shut down the benchmark app entirely instead. While I haven't observed a real-life report of recent Xiaomi phones shutting down apps (including games), forcing this kind of behaviour on the OS to make their product look better on review definitely hurts their brand image as a whole. Xiaomi absolutely needs to stop doing this - end of story.
- Compared to its predecessor, I see a substantial upswing in its overall image quality. The details look a lot finer than in the 14 Ultra in all its 4 cameras especially during the day, highlight control is now a tad better in low light, and the larger sensor + lens combo on the telephoto lens is absolutely proving its worth. It easily matches the X100 Ultra in this regard, and that's a great thing.
- The lack of the variable aperture in its main camera this year should have been emphasised 100x more in this review, however. This was what let Xiaomi 14 Ultra stand out so much from the rest: the ability to control depth of field (Crucial for a camera with a type 1 sensor), use slower shutter speed for panning shots, and create nice sunstars for creative effects. Well, they are all gone this year. The UWA camera now became a lot narrower to accommodate a smaller sensor, too. In terms of hardware specs, this is more of a sidegrade, and as a whole I don't really consider this camera setup to be any more attractive than the one on the 14 Ultra.
- I haven't got the exact number for its native field of view (Around 93-95mm equivalent in FF?), but the telephoto lens is definitely cropping in when shooting in binned mode as I can easily see the difference in wideness between the 12.5MP shots and 50MP shots. One thing I can say for sure is that stating this as a "100mm" lens on the spec sheet as well as on the actual camera bump is very deceptive, and I'm in utter disappointment to see Xiaomi going down this path.
- Is there any reason why additional shooting modes (Leica Authentic and other various Leica-branded filters) are not mentioned in this review?

Great phone, but curved screen and 5410mah battery is a no for me.
I was interested in Oppo Find X8 Ultra, but sadly it won't be available in global version.
