robberto, 04 Mar 2025May I ask which brands you had to go to if Samsung security... moreI bought an S25, I could have taken a 6.2 inch A46 with the 6 years of updates and a decent processor (even Exynos) but it doesn't exist. Anyway, I also wanted induction charging, so I suppose I'll have to pay a relatively high price.

What changed is the algorithm, which is now driven by AI.

The Galaxy A56 features context-aware image enhancement, better nighttime photos and videos with a low-noise mode, and quicker continuous shooting. The seamless zoom between the main and ultra-wide cameras has also doubled in speed, and now the switch takes less than 430 ms.

What other Samsung phones will get these features??

Simply speaking, without a micro SD slot, these are just e-waste.

for us buyers of mid-range smartphones that have a micro SD slot it is now clear that you can no longer buy Samsung, and don't bother me with the cloud, I want to save my data on SD and not online

For me, the main reasons for not buying a Galaxy A until now were the lack of security updates, the absence of inductive charging, the lack of RAM and the absence of a 6-inch version (this last point is really a reason for not buying). They've fixed two of the problems. I don't think the Galaxy S and A could be confused, given the size of the bezels, the absence of an LTPO screen, the difference in power (which also explains the absence of DeX) and the quality of the cameras.

If you work in a dusty environment such as a building site or bakery, you can use a waterproof pouch (which will ruin the design but save your smartphone). Of course, if Samsung could add an SD input, I wouldn't be against it, but today's models are mainly chosen for their power (hence the steam chamber), the quality of their sensors (increasingly voluminous) and their longevity (with a bigger battery).

Anonymous, 04 Mar 2025It happened to me with a Motorola DEFY, 14 years ago.my A52S frequently warns me that "there is a moisture or foreign object" in the USBC connector. Perhaps some dust or clothing particles, idk.. bottom line is - the device prevents you from connecting ANYTHING to it when that alarm is active..
And if that happens when my screen is broken -> I'd be doomed without an SD card or recent backup of all the data since I won't be able to connect usb hub with mouse and storage for extracting the data out..

It's basically scary, especially if we're not speaking about pictures or simply downloaded media...

But yeah, sadly all stupid companies out there (or rather greedy for spying on us) removed SD cards support so..we need to find our own way around that problem.

That's the same price as an iPhone 13 mini. With a 60Hz screen, with a light peak that ends where that of an A56 begins, and 4GB for the Apple device versus 8 for the South Korean. And the same huge bezels (also present on an iPhone 15+) That's the difference between Samsung and Apple: price. And of course, when you're carrying around a device costing several hundred euros and clad in glass and aluminum, you need a protective shell and screen protector.

atichko, 04 Mar 2025Although most probably not bad, these two are again the sam... moreI'm gonna guess that the glossy back is just another way of differentiating between the midrange and premium line. Apple used to do this but the vanilla iPhone 15/16 have been matte.

Although most probably not bad, these two are again the same boring stuff with the endlessly same, free of any thrills, design. And again both with shiny back sides. I don't get it why a lot of companies always have to put such glass (or plastic) shiny backs on all phones. It's not especially beautiful (but that's a question of personal taste) and the only thing it adds as value (if we can say that) is that it attracts smudges like hell meaning that you have to hide your precious phone in a hideous case that not only ruins the design (if we can speak about that) but it also makes you phone bigger and thicker. Hardware wise there is almost no evolution (and the new chip in the A56 still hasn't proven anything while we all know that the 6 gen 3 isn't a chip that oozes power, especially not with OneUI). It will do the job but nothing more than that and there is nothing wrong with that (in theory). Why in theory? Well...the price. For the asking price it's not OK, especially as Sammy (and others) are doing the same shit as Apple does, being removing the SD slot. And that has only one reason, to push you at spending more if you aren't satisfied with the on-board storage. Same can be said about things like the audio jack. To me, the most irritating stuff is the never changing look and feel of OneUI and the total lack of options to move away of this boring UI unless you rely on crappy themes or on the good-lock app. Unless I can get it for cheap somehow I will not buy a Sammy device any time soon again. Please bare in mind that this in only my opinion. People are still free to love and choose whatever they want but bare in mind that Sammy is lately more interested at squeezing more cash out of your pocket (the Apple way) and that is a shame.
