Apple already announced that iPhone 16e is good option for iPhone XR, 11, 12, 12 mini owners. Just bought iPhone 16e in exchange of iPhone 11. iPhone 16e is good upgrade

At this price they should've put a second camera in it and a higher refresh rate screen. This isn't a budget price anymore. But I guess they wanted to save slightly in the manufacturing costs and still ask for a premium price.

An 1/2.55 Sensor as a main camera?

In Europe that Phone in the 256GB version costs 829€

That phone sounds like it had a manufacturing cost of 120€ with the specs it has. and 60% of that is the CPU

xPandamon, 07 Mar 2025That's Apple for you. Their MacBook Air has really awf... moreInteresting to know. Was wondering about that, I think thermal was ok with m1. with m3 and so on, look suspicious to have no fan.

Still, great hardware , and not as expensive as it used to be. apple, it's allergenic to me anyway

                  Insurisingly, has a bad review.

About iOS, to me it's a drawback. Apple means good hardware, poor Wallen garden software. Though android and especially Samsung tend to go the same way, wall everything.

And about privacy/ data, apple is even worse, they just hide better ( any 1 click on store=120kb of your private data sent whatever opt out you may have' if you're not a coder, just know than 120kb of JSON can contains a lot of your life, health, adresses, orientation of whatever, social, among many other things.

                  Enjoy your 1000 usd phone.

so this is the iPhone with the worst rating on gsmarena. the second lowest is a 4/5.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2025Maybe look at an iPhone 15 Pro instead.15 pro is a good shout

Yes, right here, it’s exactly what I’m thinking about the iPhone 16e. I expected it to be another iPhone 13 mini, I mean it would’ve made perfect sense. Smaller and with MagSafe. Although, I have noticed my 13 mini has felt too small but yet not small enough… If only iPhones had a 16:9 aspect ratio…

FatShady, 07 Mar 2025no Always On option? so, why choose an oled screen then? The thing is, you clearly don't need an LTPO display for Always-On Display, so there's no excuse for this or the regular 16/Plus to lack AOD other than upselling the Pros.

Regular iPhones and Pro's have OIS on selfie camera, Apple just doesn't mention it but teardowns prove that.

"We appreciate that Apple has put the most recent selfie camera with autofocus and possibly OIS."

It seems that not even the regular iPhones have OIS on the selfie camera.

The battery life in this review is at odds with every other review I saw of the 16e, which shows it to be at least on par with the regular 16, which is interesting. The bad battery life is the last straw for me; I can accept all its other shortcomings just to get the better looking, classier design (imo), but a battery life that's markedly worse than the regular 16, despite the 16e's larger battery, is unacceptable.

So the good thing about iphone cameras was their natural, non oversaturated approach. But this looks like an uncharacteristic one. What a shame.

The battery life tests are rather weird and inconsistent. Tom's guide's battery life test for 16e was only slightly more than the 16 and right now the 16's active use score is way more than the 16e in GSMArena. Which is weird considering that all reviewers and other websites are talking about astounding battery lifes similar to 15 plus.

I'm confused about where the inconsistencies are coming from.
