Boldpixel, 07 Mar 2025Got me wondering too. How is gsmarena so different.I think it’s because gsmarena uses airplane mode for most of the test. The iPhone 16e has great battery life because of how efficient its modem is, but since the phone isn’t connected to a cell network, that doesn’t show up in the test results

I was expecting at least the same main camera as the iPhone 16. No point in getting this at all. iPhone 16 is considerably better and the price difference is not really that great.

If this phone were made by Xiaomi, it would be 150ish... Pandemic affected the brain of some people big time.

Definitely expected great battery life, especially with that 60hz screen. But this is rly disappointing.

I was expecting better screen brightness, much better main cam and definitely so much better battery life than this review points out. Thank you GSMArena for your honest and detailed review as always. You saved me from making a catastrophic mistake. I will hang on my trusty 12 Pro Max and will buy a 16 or Pro.

A generic $250 Chinese smartphone might be better value for money.

After they updated the battery test, i was excited and thought they finally fixed it, but no.

Only exceptional (16h+ Active Score) battery life could have redeemed this device… at this price point, that is. As things stand, only revising the price of the 128GB version to 500€ (and the other two accordingly) can redeem iPhone 16E.

You have 3715 score on 3dmark stress test 1st run. Looks like a slight increase in temp reduces scores a lot. Might have been the reason for your low score in the non stress test.

16e is 699 euro
But it is a matter of time, base s24 128gb is 580 euro, base s23 256gb 590 euro and 256gb S24 Ultra is 919 euro (that is surprising because S23U never dropped that low here, neither did S22U)
Matter of time, but 16e is now a poor buy even for a apple user, regular 16 starts at 760 euro and is iphone wise the better deal than 16e.

Anyhow a bit surprising the gpu stabilty is 65% while 16 is 78% and 16 pro 90%, clear difference in cooling.
65% is not bad though, cpu seems fine on the other hand.

Really weird how in other reviews the 16e beats 16 in battery life, because more efficient modem, 1 gpu core less and bigger battery.
Only here it does worse, wondering what makes the testing method here different (other reviews often used a sim, which should give even worse battery results vs testing without one)
