I think because they view that as a performance oriented phone but this is more of a midrange chap with much better camera hardware. I think they should actually have listed the Redmi note 14 pro+ as an alternative as it launched in Europe for €500 so at least in the EU it is in exactly the same price category based on launch prices. Anyway they've listed the Honor 200 pro as a competitor and that is by far the best option in Europe at the €500 price range in some countries

    This is a decent phone. A36 is pure trash.

      I held this device in a store and it looks and feels premium. A decent smartphone for non-enthusiast. A good buy after discounts.

          LESSON:

          Don't be trapped for early bird offer. Samsung is good in that.

          Samsung would have used 7+ gen 3 or 7 gen 3 for this phone.

            The day Samsung start giving snapdragon to their A50 series like A52/A52s from 2021 they will rule again...

              Hey guys, what do you recommend between A56 and Oppo Reno 13?

              In my region the pricings are different so both phones are about to be around 135k (12gb 256 in reno and 8 256 in A56). Its priced lower than phones like S24 FE and Xiaomi 14t etc which retails for about 180k, so can't get those instead of these.

              I feel like Reno13 is better but don't understand why gsmarena gave reno13 only 3.9 points while giving A56 4.1 point even though A56 is priced similar I guess.

                Hmm ... pass, not gonna to upgrade my A52s for this. I wanna to stay using Samsung but A56 isn't worth it. If I absolutely need to get a new phone now ... keep using my SD card, I buy A55; for better performance, buy S24 FE.

                  RDNA 3 possibly the culprit for battery drain issue, hope it's resolved on the next update.

                    I don't understand what this phone brings to the table that earns it a 4.1 rating. Apart from what's been mentioned, there's nothing to set it apart from the competition such as Wifi 7, UFS 4.0, wireless charging or periscope telephoto cameras. In light of this, it is also decimated by the likes of the Poco X7 Pro in value for both basic build (immersion rating)/performance as well as the extras (extra bloatware included with Poco LOL)

                            14T, Poco, Realme etc. tons of better phones out there

                              4.1 rating is generous if you read the review itself since it says "hard to recommend" and many disadvantages.

                              Based on the review, should be 3.5 at most. Why the rating doesn't reflect that is puzzling.

                                How is the Exynos modem performance these days? Exynos doesn't matter, but if I buy an A36 instead of an A56 because I don't like the modem, would that be a stupid choice?

                                        No 10 bit display
                                        No 1.5k resolution
                                        No fast charging
                                        No autofocusing ultrawide camera (macro camera should be removed for a cleaner look)
                                        Slow charging

                                        It's 2025 Samsung, wake up.
