Bought a Samsung Galaxy A36 5G phone from Croma, Enikepadu, Vijayawada, on 2nd May 2025. Use was with Jio 5G in SIM1 and BSNL in SIM2. It appeared to be OK since I was mostly installing and logging in to regular use Apps. When started using regularly, on 9th May, I noticed the FIRST PROBLEM with SIM2. After receiving 1 or 2 calls, when the mobile is in Lockscreen mode, next call to SIM2 does not appear. The mobile rings, but nothing is visible on the screen and the screen is black till the call ends unattended. No pressing side buttons or double taps on scree works. I can only check who has called from missed calls list and call back. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT. The Croma staff did lot of research and failed. They took it to Samsung Service and their report is that all software has been reloaded and the problem may be with the BSNL SIM being 4G.
Am I to conclude that Samsung Galaxy 5G phones are unfit for BSNL SIM since they are yet to roll out 5G?
We tried a 5G SIM of BSNL (they have started issuing 5G SIM in Vijayawada though there in no 5G Service) with the same result. One boy in Croma store, got a brilliant idea and put SIM2 in "LTE Preferred" Network Mode. The problem was solved/disappeared and I was happy.
Today, 18th May, I noticed another problem. The first problem reappearing! On checking, I found that, by itself, the Network Mode of SIM2 is changing to "5G Preferred" leading to the first problem returning.
Though Jio has extensive 5G, it does not always work effectively. That time, I change over to BSNL SIM2 with 4G connectivity for Mobile Data. I found that the Network Mode of SIM2 is changing to "5G Preferred" as soon as Mobile Data (4G) is from BSNL SIM2.
The conclusion is:
Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is UNFIT FOR BSNL 4G NETWORKS. Or the so called Awsome series is some mmisplaced "AWE"?
Will Samsung clarify on this? If the problem is with the device I bought, Samsung should replace it immediately. If the prob is with Software, do send a patch for update at Samsung Service Centre. My mail ID is akgopal123@gmail.com. Hope somebody will respond soon.

Next update (june or july, this phone is on quarterly update policy), samsung should address these things
Improve mini stutters and mini lags when navigating the UI
Improve overall camera processing, front cam only shines in huge amount of light. Standard indoor lighting will results in soft and bland colours, even more in low light. A56 front cam fared better in this scene, even though the front cam hardware is similiar i guess.
Switching to UW in video also freezes the video recording a while. Hoping all cameras can do 1080 60 fps.
Better overall battery life in both active and standby state.

I've had te phone for a week now. No major issues. It's a great phone. Fast processor, great with Call of Duty, you can see shadows, no hanging. Strong battery can last 1-2 days depending on usage. Great back camera, takes very good portraits, colors are vivid and realistic.
I just have 2 issues- the phone heats up abit and the selfie camera needs plenty of light to take good photos. All the same good phone for that price.

The phone is great I just don't really like the camera design I think they do better with camera design but another then that is awesome

a35 and a36 web browsing only 10-11 hrs battery?? while a32, a34, my sis a13 got 17-20 hrs battery. am i wrong??

I just found that Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is essentially a mildly updated version of Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which, in turn, is a binned-down version of Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. At this point, I might just as well get a Sony Xperia 10 VI, or an HMD Skyline, or even a Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2024. At least they still have the headphone jack (except for the HMD) and microSD card slot.
