Sadly the detail processing in Auto Mode is worse than in Oppo Find x7 Ultra, more artificial, especially in long zoom. Hopefully it will be better after updates.

What is lacking in this review, is comparison between Oppo Find x7 Ultra and Oppo Find X8 Ultra, also photos made in Master Mode which is great.

Gsmarena gives us at least photo comparison between Find X8 Ultra and Vivo x200 Ultra when it comes out.

    I think it's largely due to Chinese ROM, Oxygen and global COS perform way better than this..

    on FX7U I get mf 5.5h SoT so I might even "upgrade" purely because of that 💀 Once I managed to debloat it and get literally 10-11h but some things weren't so stable so I had to factory reset and start again..

            David 040882, 18 Apr 2025Mate, I see you literally everywhere hating on all smartpho... moreI was only expecting they fix their issues over Find X7 Ultra. Which they haven't. Highlights are even more overblown in this release, I've compared the same photo samples here (FX8U vs 15U vs X200P vs 7 RSR (lol)) and OPPO still heavily removes the texture from night images. 25MP mode has less details than 12MP one which is everything but true on my Find X7 Ultra. This review however is pretty limited as the pics are basic but on Weibo blind tests you'll see why.

            I'm not saying it's impossible they'll fix all of this with a few OTAs but it's highly unlikely if it wasn't fixed coming from FX7U (highlights they will fix, but the question is at which level will they be).

            I'm not impressed by the cameras and speakers (look at the curve and loudness) but I still think Find X8 Ultra is the best Ultra anyone can buy due to other facts (OS and overall hardware it's the most balanced phone out there)

            They definitely overshot calling it a "night god" because it loses to even X200P when it comes to night, heck even 15U has more details and looks less artificial at places.

            P.s. although I'm extremely satisfied that both device thickness and camera bump were actually reduced coming from the fx7u and compared to 15U and X200U it's 2x better. The design is peak albeit uneven bezels.

              You'll understand why I'm disappointed, they fixed basically nothing coming from Find X7 Ultra which I own.

                Deserves a 4.6 rating at least

                    Go ahead and look at comparisons between the s25u and all those other chinese phones with huge batteries and you'll see how the Samsung loses to everyone.

                      Those full res 50MP from main and 3X modules are crazy good! 6x is good at 25MP but at 50MP you can see it starts to upscale. Ultra Wide is only good at 12MP tho.

                          OK I've finished camera samples..and man..does it suck. At the moment I'd say it performs even worse than Find X7 Ultra AND night 1x is terrible, it still softens and removes the texture.

                          If they don't fix this ASAP I'll definitely be skipping on this one. Also 12MP vs 25MP is a huge difference on FX7U, and here I see actually less details at some places. Human subjects should do better on 25MP mode but WTF is with everyone releasing unfinished phones.. there's definitely more details at some spots but not as much as with FX7U, at least with this initial pre-release software..

                                    Fantastic image quality from 23mm to 135mm, acceptable on the ultra wide 15mm. Two steps forward and one backward with the reduction in size of the ultra wide sensor.

                                    The image processing is the best in the industry, keeping very fine details, with fantastic colors, tonality, DR and spot on WB.

                                    "What we're struggling a bit more to see is any real advantage in shooting in 25MP resolution on the main camera - one of the other new bits about this Ultra."
                                    Upon close inspection, there is a big difference between the 26 MP (5888x4415 pixels) mode vs the 12,5 MP one. the 26 MP files contain 50% more resolution anywhere you look at the image, which is on par with the linear increase of a little more than 50% or resolution. The 50 MP images are also proportionally better and finally usable IMO.

                                    Unexpectedly the Snapdragon Elite chip gets very hot and throttles after some time. The good part is that is after 40 minutes of use and not a couple of ones as Apple phones.

                                    I love the flat screen, finally!

                                        The camera bump is as large as Xiaomi 15 Ultra's? Are you kidding me gsm?

                                        I mean, it's even smaller than Find X7 Ultra's which was already way smaller than 14 Ultra WHICH is way smaller than 15 Ultra

                                        Phone thickness is between -1.35 and -1.55 millimeters with the camera bump included (when compared to 15U), that's huge actually.

                                        BOE X2 display is fine, brightness could be better definitely. I need to see actually W consumption here.

                                        Speakers are a bit disappointing, I think.

                                        Battery life is definitely RIP when compared to global OxygenOS, I don't know why Chinese COS is performing so poorly when it's basically the same system. Animations however are #1 in android world but I don't think it affects battery as much as I've seen com.blur not taking much of system resources at all.

                                        Yeah, it sucks that 6x can't focus close and that's precisely why 3x (which is way larger) can do 10cm macros.
