Grimace Soup is available in Europe, but only in certain countries. For example, around my house, it will be available in France, Germany, and Austria. But they don't mention it on the Sonx website, in Switzerland and Italy. Plus, they make selections, so don't complain about not selling enough. But if it's in a neighboring country, it won't be too difficult to buy.

Just thought I'd check the price of this thing on Sony's UK website and oh my god what are they smoking lmfao

Shame on you, Sony. The blurry video result from this "flagship" seem like it is from a cheap crap phone. The same artificial watercolour effect is obvious even in the high resolution images - they used to be more detailed and sharper. Marketing statements always sound great but only if they are covered by reality. Very disappointing...

Nick Tegrataker, 14 May 2025X200 series has Zeiss Natural mode for more neutral colour ... moreThe person you're replying to is clearly only justifying his own ideas/preferences instead of thinking objectively. The 1 V and older models let highlights blow out completely, not the newer ones. And the Xiaomi 15 Ultra only blows out highlights in Leica Authentic and even then it's a LOT more artificial compared to the 14 series. Oppo and Xiaomi both peaked with their 2024 Ultras in terms of style, the perfect blend of artificial and natural.

Although I agree with what you're saying I can kind of see why people like the Xperia so much, even though they've diluted it nearly completely, there's still some of that classic Sony "style".

Imagine if Sony actually put great hardware, for example equivalent to the X200 Ultra or the Find X6 Pro/X8 Ultra, and either lowered the price to 1000-1200 dollars OR upped their software game up. I'm quite sure that if Sony partnered with a fellow phone company to create a new "style" it'd be quite popular as Sony's style is quite nice looking imo.

Tester, 14 May 2025Please update your information, these two have nothing to d... moreActually, the standard for a 'retina display' on phones is 326PPI to be exact. Created by Apple in 2010 (so 15 years) but de facto adopted by others.

Nowadays I see that Apple has been using a new standard since the iPX: 460PPI. I don't think there's an official name for it, but it's been consistent ever since the X. And it seems like the Chinese giants have also been trying to aim for 460PPI displays on their phones for the past few years. I believe this is directly connected to the proliferation of 1.5K displays.

So, a low-end screen with low-end phone bezels for a price that makes iPhone and Samsung top models look like a bargain.
They are really trying to milk those who want a headphone jack and a microsd card.
Other than that, you can buy 3 midrangers with the same specs and a better screen, instead of 1 VII.

All the Sony phones with "4k" screens were running at FHD 99% of the time so you wouldn't see a difference no, unless using the right app, you realise the placebo effect exists right?

Also B. Most phones have roughly 1200p-QHD so no, you wouldn't notice a difference at that point, having a 10/12 bit screen with full HDR support is far better than a 4k screen on a device this small (and people don't get it's a lot of pixels to push, at idle the phone will be using more processing power to display anything).

This phone is the best for comments on different sites, but tragic when it comes to sells

The best phone in the world as of the time of writing this comment.

I wish the Sony phones were better or at the very least much cheaper. But them being not even as special as the S25U Ultra while costing more, I just can't justify it. Also, the thermal throttling is insane.

GSMArena, could you please verify the accuracy of the battery life results? Is this discrepancy attributable to unoptimised software (a lack of ongoing optimisation efforts by Sony)?

From my observations of other phones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, they have demonstrated superior battery life compared to the previous generation, the Snapdragon 8 Gen-3. However, in Sony’s case, the battery life is inferior in all aspects when compared to the Xperia 1 Mark VI.
