hey, i just got the c902 and am not entirely sure on how to update my phone. i'm in canada, and neither the canada or the us websites have the update for this phone. The UK website seems to have it, but would i be able to use it? and is there a way to check on the phone itself to see what the current firmware in use is?

This review is a bit disappointing to be honest. Two of GSMArena's main gripes with the phone are poorly judged in my opinion. I have owned this phone for about 2 months now and am very very happy with it.

Firstly, this review makes it extremely obvious that the reviewer didn't use the phone for very long. Most phone keyboards take a short while to get used to, and the C902's is no exception. GSMArena says "What really stands in the way of comfortable typing though is the awkward reverse terracing." - Well yes that is true, FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS! Then you get used to it, and the keyboard truly is great for typing on once you're used to the new feel. Reviewers really need to put in more effort and use the phone daily for a good week or two, otherwise they can't give a good judgment.

Then GSMArena says that the photos problems with excessive sharpening and purple fringing, a problem I've never experienced with mine, despite viewing the shots at 100% size quite often. Sure, they aren't true digital camera quality, but no phone can claim that yet. The C902's shots are really great and the colour reproduction is excellent. I would like to know what firmware GSMArena's C902 example used, because it surely wasn't one of the later firmwares on which they SHOULD HAVE based their review.

The camera samples taken by gsmarena are better than the ones from mobile-review and smape. They're oversharpened but they don't look washed out like the ones from smape and m-r. Maybe it's the firmware, the reviews by the other sites were done months earlier than this one.

this sounds like a great budget camera phone honestly, but i am waiting for the X1, or i"d get the C905 on contract, whenever that one comes out

i've used this phone for the past 3months and think its a great handset. One thing that i've always enjoyed with SE phones is there attention to battery life (which this has) the downside to this phone is that the screen is smallish yes, but also there is no need for those touch buttons, they were on a good thing with the k800/k810 and with the shortcut buttons on the top of the phone they should have continued it on to this model.
all in all, i use the phone for a phone and a few happy snaps and happy with the result, especially the size of it

Its got 8 touch keys, surrounding the screen. The rest of the screen isn't touch sensitive.

And @ previous posts, n96 is expensive because its got alot of features that nobody can use.

I think this is a nice phone considering that it is 5 mp and the touch screen but I also think they shoudl have made the screen bigger or at least 2.4" but I still think that this phone rocks!!! I will definitely get this phone.

The camera quality of this phone is just not that good for what is meant to be a high end phone. The K800i takes better pictures!

The screen size is extremely small also. What SE should have done would be to make the screen cover the entire area and only show the icons on the camera view (making the left and right of the screen touch sensitive). Yes you would get some fingerprints on the left/right of the screen, but that's expected.

"As usual, photos at 100% should not be indicative, as even mid-range digicam quality suffers at full size. Just to give you an idea of what the C902 photos can turn out with just a wee bit of photoediting, here are their versions downsized to 1024x768 pixels."

I doubt "mid-range digicams" are quite that bad, that you'd have to downsize your 10 or 12 MP photos to 1024x768 for acceptable quality.
If I shoot with ISO 100 (which incidentally no longer can be adjusted on SE's latest Cyber-shot phones) with my Fuji F40fd then even 8 MP full size photos are *still* better than your 0.7 MP samples.

Then I think you need to learn how to use a camera.

Personally, After using samsung, SE, and LG's camera phones, I feel SE have the best user experience.

Best Pic, and the speedy fast image browsing is awesome. LG takes 4 seconds to load, every time you see the next picture.

Samsung is aite, user interface just feels really clumsy.

                                      But thats' just my opinion.
