Nokia N85 review: Nseries revved up

07 November 2008
N85 is the latest Nseries signing and a bulletproof spec sheet sets it right in the thick of all-in-one action. Full-house connectivity and multimedia prowess topped with a massive OLED screen to die for, Nokia N85 gives the lineup a great edge...

hummm the nokia n85 :-) bought this phone last nov and have a few issues like others. the slider is loose but will deal with it. my ear piece stops working at times? multi tasking can be way to slow for my liking and will freeze up from time to time :-( down volume key has to be pushed hard to work. gps works like crap for me i have only been able to connect one time in a car :-( worthless to me

good note: battery life is the best i have owned, screen is amazing, love all the features this phones does soooooo minus some major issues with the ear piece i can live with it for now

I've had this phone for a couple of months now. It lives up to its spec sheet and hype. Only short fall is it could do with a larger AMOLED coupled with a larger battery.

Having had my N85 for a week now I only can state that it is happenis for 100% the FM Transmitter is a gem feels good and has everything I always wanted from a cell phone. Sound is super and I can only recommend this phone to potencial Nokia buyers.

not a bad little phone this. not exactly up to the n958gb, but a lot faster than the n96. nokia definitely getting things right with this one. sony ericsson need to fix up and realise that nokia have them beat.

if u r buying a new phone then n85 is the best available in the market. Believe me you are not going to get better than this. I have been buying and selling phones for about 6 years and i have never used such a good phone. It only has one problem that its camera image quality is not good. Its video quality is just awesome.

I thought about it.. I guess because they are averages it could end up with the dynamic ranges being greater than the floor. They are not that much over in the test cases.

Also, the link I tried posting before did not show up correctly so here's attempt #2:

I would take those audio measurements with a grain of salt... I'm no expert, but by common sense, how can the dynamic range be greater than the absolute value of the noise floor?

Also, the N96 should be pretty close to the N85 in audio performance I would think.

So I dug around for another test. See the N85 review on Mobile-review for comparison here: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n85-en.shtml#7

                                    n95 8gb boast of:-
                                    1) 2.8 inch screen(n85-2.6 inch)
                                    2) 3d graphics accelerator
                                    3) better camera performance
                                    whereas n85:-
                                    1)OLED display
                                    2)better battery backup(as compared to n95 8gb)
                                    3)memory card slot
                                    4) advanced symbian interface.

so iwanted to know which one to opt for.
