hey guys, great review. just wondering however why you havent compared the music player/sound abilities of the 5800 to the walkman series phones? even to that extent, comparing it to the samsung i450, despite there being no touchscreen equivelant, seems important when the phone is aiming at media focused users....

ive tested 5800, its a good phone to invest if u want wnt something between pda n a smartphone. it's sensitivity is comparable to pda phones in the market. a good start for new users of symbian OS. thou u mite encounter a little hiccups from the phone, its normal. we cannot expect every phone to work prefectly, humans were not made perfect too. dun expect too much from it. choices of languages are available to download for free via internet access or Wifi. very user friendly, one of the friend;iest touch phone in nokia family. trust me, its value for $$$. camera wise, dun expect much from it. music wise is good. possible to expand it from 8gb to 16gb. no lag so far. get sandisk or transcend cards, others u risk it, im not taking chances for my datas, as they r of importance to me.

I am in South Africa, and have had the N5800 phone for about two weeks. I notice from the few days ago, the phone keeps switching off. I then have to restart. I had ugraded the firmware to V20. when I received the phone. Is this due to the firmware, faulty phone or a setting that I activated. Also how do i know when using the internet that the phone is using the HSDPA feature. I bought it specifically due to WiFI and HSDPA. I have reset factory settings but it is still switching off. How can I get the old firmware back to check if not the firmware. In S.A. we are only getting the Nokia 5800 that is made in China. yuk

Yet again a Symbian Nokia suffering due to Vodafones lousy software!!!
Been waiting 6wks for Vodafone to replace my faulty 5800, only to be told that they have no definite date as to when, if at all, they'll have new stock! Yet they still advertise the 5800 as available on their network!!! Absolute jokers!!!!!

Guys! i want so much to change my present SE k750 with something that realy last long in terms of sophisticated tech, so i won' have to change every year or so. Firs i wanted to buy N85, but seeing the reviews and used priced that is really down hill. So, i consider 5800 which more reliable in term of buid quality. But my main concern is the camera!! I would be fuly saisfied if it come with 5 mpix. Can any one of you know when will nokia launch the next version of 5800 with 5 mpix?? Thanks a lot!

amielDH, 12 Mar 2009which is which guys? is the phone really that bad? or is it... morecant comment on e51.
you will surely love 5800 with its huge touchscreen, great resolution, excellent music quality, superb(& fast) interface with good animations, great features(all features of a smartfone are included).
Since you have already used n73, the camera of 5800 will be a great dissapointment for you. But you get so much more at such low price that you wont mind the camera.
Note: Camera is superb in bright light, but simply sucks in low light.
