Absurd price of iPhone is about to fall. Nokia will make them stop robbing people :) I love competition of them.

Earpiece problems, 3g reception problems, LCD problems..... just indictative of poor quality assurance. This phone could be a winnner, but Nokia needs to get it right BEFORE release.

GUYS GUYS GUYS!.....update the firmware to v.20
What a great difference in low light video recording. There is a 3rd option for low light video and all I can say is that the vertical lines and artifacts are now reduced by 50-60%!Great job NOKIA!Also the pictures quality is slightly better.overall a great phone!

its not just good looking, its really practical and easy to handle, the speakers are great and the camera is pretty good, although its only 3.2 MP but the pictures im taking are turning out great, with flash or without
Plus the price is really good compared to other Nokia mobiles

I love my 5800! its awesome! the UI is easy to use and all the probs about clicking and double clicking and scrolling, you get used to it within a day. Its really no big deal. The speakers are insane and now more and more apps are being released so thats good. The only prob is the camera. It sucks, the iphone 2mp one is far better. However, if pictures and videoing arent that important for you, this phone owns! ;)

hey...the people with the negative comments about this phone..where did you buy your 5800? My 5800 doesn't lag or restart...I even browse the internet while listening to music..and its has no problem. For the people who want to have this phone...I recommend it. I had it for 1month now...and there's no problem at all..Well, the picture quality is best for outdoors but not in low light places. The video is good...30fps of video recording. So far so good..Just waiting for more 3rd party application to come out.

I don't care what others may say about it.
I think its really COOL!
Just wait until i get it! Doesn't matter if it has certain disabilities as long as its made mainly for music. I mean this is "WOW". We live in an imperfect world. All we have to do is accept what's is there.. So what if iPhone's better? The question is... Do you have money to pay for it? Its simple... The 5800's more affordable. I wanna support NOKIA! Im definitely gonna get this for my graduation present!!! Simply can't wait to have of these! I have requests though.. I hope you'll also make cases and silicon for screen protection and to avoid scratches like your previous phones. I mean that's not a 'so hard' request right? Goodluck nokia! Stay strong=)

I want to share experience of using Nokia Map. I hope it helps, someway. Aniway..
I use E51, have downloaded Nokia Map 3.0 (beta?) it's the latest available on "Download" and use it with bliss. My experience is, that after download complete (I think it's the application) then you would have to download the map. What happened to me was that since I'm on office free wifi, I've downloaded most of my map needs using that, by strolling to one area to another so that the connection can download the map for that area.
After all area I wanted was completely downloaded (you can see it in the map screen), then if you use it outside any connectivity (by setting connection to off) you can still use the map as per latest you've downloaded, for FREE.
I don't have GPS, but we can still use the map offline to route to some place by:
1. Add to route a place (click or your own choice)
2. Add stopover - then choose from library or from the map
3. Show route
The phone will then calculate.
Then you see the route in your map, completely offline. I hope my explaination helps. Cheers.

I purchased the 5800 a few days ago 4.5years after buying the 6230. At the same time i bought it 3 people in the store bought the iphone.
At first I was a bit disappointed from the UI since it feels like its a UI that was designed for a regular phone and than clumsily adapted to a touchphone without too much thought.
After a few days of use I changed my mind. I needed to use the video and camera at my work and even thou the quality is not great it was still very usable.
The radio works fine. The sound quality of the speakers is astounding.
The phone is light small and easily disappears in my pocket. and feels very comfortable in my hand.the screen quality is great. since it has a great voice recognition I can activate every function and call anyone without having to train the phone for every command or number and it has 100% success rate so far.
Wifi and bluetooth work fine.
When I used iphone i had problems typing since i usualy use the tip of my fingernails and it didn't feel well in my hands.
I paid for it 2/3 of the price of an iphone.
As a phone it's a much better phone than iphone, no competition.
It's main drawback is total lack of proper or fun applications. It's not that it's hardware cannot do most of what Iphone can do, it's just too new and there are not many touch applications available for it.
Gadget and game freaks should get the iphone.
People that want a great phone with touch abilities for great price should get the 5800.

I went to one of the NOKIA centers and they had me try a sample unit, and as far as im concerned it was great, if i decide that im gonna buy this phone then this will be the 1st touch phone that i will have, Experia's too expensive and so is the Omnia, im pretty satisfied when i tested in for about 20 mins, so im basing part of my decision on the comments that i read here. Hope the moneys worth it ... cuz right now im almost positive on getting me a 5800, NOKIA never failed me before all the phone that i bought from them were quality phones, hope this one sets my expectations as well.

Is Nokia Maps completely free and can it be used without an internet connection? Can I download maps of other countries for free? Also, does this software provide step by step directions? Thanks.
