LG KM900 Arena review: A touch of class

24 April 2009
One of the most exciting handsets the season - the LG KM900 Arena - returns to our office and this time it is going to stay a bit longer. After getting off to a flying start in both sales and reviews the Arena certainly...

How much does it cost in EU , exactly in italy cause i am travelling to there at the end of the week and and still comparing prices and specs between it -KM900- and the Nokia5800 and the iphone -ofc unlocked- ,but this seems to be taking the upper hand...

Although I can't wait for the Sony Ericsson Idou.

Like LG says "Life's Good", and I totally agree with them.

One of the best mobile ever in market.
It has an amazing UI which is fun and easy to use. I felt really comfirtable even after being a first time LG buyer.
The amount of applications supported in Arena are way better in performance and feature compared to iPhone.
The music player is great especially with head phone and with 8GB internal memory it is just amazing.
It is the best phone available in market.

Using this phone for couple of days I finally analised that this is truly multimedia!!! Like the camera is classy fir both making videos and the photos the sound quality is very good as well as the video resolution and qulaity is superb. But you can't compare this handset with iPhone for touch screen, touch keypad, browsing Internet and download application straight up to your phone. Well if you want a phone for a good multimedia then it's a good one but nor from any angle u can't compare this one with iphone

My 1st LG, 28 Apr 2009I'm waiting for this phone to arrive having ordered it yest... moreHaving used to phone for a couple of days now, I'm definitely happy I bought this phone and not another! The size/design and build quality are excellent! The UI is really intuitive and easy to use. This is my first touchscreen phone and after about half a days use, you get really comfortable with the touchscreen. I have large hands and typing is no problem. The browser is very good and e-mail easy to setup. Picture quality is very good outdoors, although not as good indoors. Picture editing is superb. As the review suggested, the phone lacks a bit of bass when listening to music, but sound reproduction is awsome. Especially in Dolby mode! One thing I'm not so happy about is the actual media player itself. I listen to mainly DJ sets that are at least 80min long and skipping through the track is tiresome, as you can't jump to a particular point in the track. You have to hold the forward button down =(
I can easily live with this though. Packed with features. Very stylish. A pleasure to use and I've not yet played around or configured all the features. Blows the Nokia 5800 out of the water!
The iphone does some things better, but the iphone doesn't do everything this phone does! You don't need a suitcase to carry it in either. Fits in my top pocket no problem!
LOVE IT & wouldn't change it for any other phone on the market at present!
Great job by LG! Really great job!
                        I highly recommend this phone.

This phone is a joke. Let's face it and be honnest for once.
Very ugly menus. Bad camera. No GPS. No theme. No wallaper.
We don't even see the resolution of 800/480 pixels.

To conserve battery life: Shut off GPS and Wi-Fi and other power-consuming programs when not in use!

This applies to all phones, regardless of make and model, to conserve battery life!

Good looking phone with decent features!

This should convince Apple that their competitors phones are starting to catch up to the iPhone!

Don't need or care about a smartphone so a working phone with good reception and a media player would be desired. At least it includes a 3.5mm port unlike some phones (Sony Ericsson!). Also, it includes Wifi! Hopefully the actual battery life will be decent!

GPS feature uses Google Maps so, unless one has a data plan with their phone plane, the GPS feature is essentially useless since it needs to go online for the maps! Does this mean that maps are Not installed on the phone but actually uses Google maps? GPS feature is too new for me on phones! Rather use a GPS unit!

Let's hope the price drops soon and it'll be available for sale for non-Europe markets such as North America!

Thats okay, perhaps it was an error, and they fixed it.

And For the message after yours, I don't believe GSM arena posts ratings of un-released phones. There are much higher rated phones than the ones listed on the chart right now.... just that they haven't been released yet.

I owned a renoir and arena....
Of course the camera the renoir out do the arena but when i use it in front of my friend, the renoir they dont even bother to know, but wen i use arena, they all just wow up...
What i trying to said is, arena is superior in it's interface. Looks very high class.... If you want to show off, then u must pick this phone...

I'm waiting for this phone to arrive having ordered it yesterday after reading the specs and reviews. The other contenders for me where the Samsung Pixon, Samsung Tocco Ultra, iPhone, Nokia 5800.
The iphone no doubt sets the bench mark for phones to be compared against, but for me the crap camera, no video recording, no option to upgrade memory and £35 a month contract for 24months (to get the phone for free) put me off. The app store is perhaps the biggest selling point.
As for both Samsungs, neither have wifi or 3.5mm headphone jack. Battery life is also poor on Pixon although it's a brilliant multimedia phone and excellent build quality.
The Nokia 5800 is nice phone but cheap finish and not the best touchscreen (almost ordered it before I saw the LG).
The LG seems to do everything I want (Not to bothered about it not being a smartphone) plus it has an FM transmitter and I got the handset for free on £25 a month for 600min, Unlimited texts and 500Mb browsing. I suppose you have to compromise on something at the end of the day. Will post another once I actually receive it =) Happy shopping!
