Battery, 22 Jun 2009Those of you that already got the phone, what's battery lif... morewell the battery life isn't impressive... 2 days at most.
but the performance really makes you happy. I dont really think about battery life, any phone that can get 24 hours is good enough. You recharge it everynight while sleeping and thats it.

Those of you that already got the phone, what's battery life like? Reports of poor battery life with the Omnia HD and Ultra Touch have kept me from buying them. So, is this Samsung any different?

Well I got the phone on the 16th of this month and I can tell you it is great... I am a die hard Sony Ericsson fan but this time I made the right choice.
One thing though...It is stated on all websites that the Jet is the Samsung S8000. Mine is the S8003... Any hint why or what this is?
      Its the Jet S8003...weird...

This phone is available in Dubai as of right now. Had a hands on with the device at Deira City Center half an hour ago. Selling for 2250AED(approx $612USD). Amazingly fast UI(close to iPhone but couldn't see the animations), the camera samples were brilliant. Screen is super crisp! The 3D UI is cheesy at best, no practical use as it is. Couldn't check any videos, none onboard.

A previously-nokia f, 16 Jun 2009Samsung and LG are maiking celfones like hell....Nokia is g... morePeople always say things like Nokia is going to die etc. etc.

This has been said for years and Nokia is still going strong.

Until Nokia's market share drop from 40% to about 20% stop the noise because it's annoying now.

One thing I have always given Nokia credit for is sensibility in their phones, whether smart phones or regular phones. Nokia ALWAYS pay attention to the primary reason why people buy phones...to make calls and receive calls. Up to this day Nokia have the BEST antennas and in many areas where other phones hardly get signals or don't get any signal at all, Nokia phones ALWAYS make sure you get connected with whoever you need to.

In addition to all that, Nokia implement the BEST phonebook and contact management in ALL of their series phones. I won't elaborate on that because those of you who own Nokia phones know exactly what I'm talking about.

For the most part many manufacturers focus mainly on multimedia instead of telephony functions...that's why Nokia is the market leader.

Nokia is not disconnecting people, Nokia ALWAYS connect people.

mr.1, 19 Jun 2009LG copying always samsungLast time LG copy Samsung, now seems is Samsung copy LG. Nor matter who copy who. Both is Copy King.

From my experience, I still prefer Samsung which always produce better phone than LG. Recent LG phone got hanging issue, this include the most troublesome phone LG Ice cream and Cookies as well.

When I 1st saw Jet, I am ready happy at least Samsung got something ready can win LG S-Class interface. This phone is nice but I just hope Samsung put more effort on redesign the menu and music player (when in portrait mode) and the photo browser (I ready hate this browser idea)

I still won't buy Jet because I own Ultra Touch, awaiting for Jet 2 or whatever which having this cool processor and interface but upgrade with better camera lens. :)

Price seems to be very expensive. OK for free with contract but if you pay cash.... Sorry, too much...

I really had bad experience with Samsung Omnia (WinMO 6.1). It is by far the worst phone I have used (even after 3 returns).

Samsung Jet seems to be okay on the spec but I must say, Samsung seems to be copying, of all vendors, LG! Samsung recently launched lowend touch (I forget the name) to overtake LG Cookie, and recently lauched a cheap looking side qwerty to overtake LG KS360.

Why is Samsung always copying LG? They should try and aim higher and make better phones like Nokia.

Ok.. I'm about to buy a new phone but need help!! I've narrowed it down to 2 phones! Nokia 97 (I've got the N95 8gb and has been the best far I've had to date) or the Samsung Jet (I've also got the Omnia and think it's great too!!). Please could you suggest which one you would choose out the two and why? Thank you all.

Don't understand why GSMarena talks about a pre-release in it's review when the phone already hit the shelves, flawless...

I work in a phone shop in Denmark, People only buy Nokia and Sonye because they never have tried anything else, Samsung, LG, and HTC will and are starting to blow the two others away, they are way behind and are making ugly phones that offen has flaws in.

Personally, I don't like Samsung at all. But that's all about preference.
The point being is, people say: "This Phone lacks this, that phone lacks that..". There is no perfect phone. Everyone has preferences and that's the reason they look at these forums, for someone's opinions. But they aint looking for your "whining".
So if you have something constructive to say you're more that welcome, since it helps others people, but if you don't then just go whine elsewhere and stop bothering other people with it.

Back to the phone: I think it's deffinatly a good one for some amount fo people. Every phone can suit a specific person. The reason why so many phones (some look like the same) is because everyone's experiences are diffirent. I think this phone will suit many people.

But that's just my thoughts, I haven't tested the phone anywhere yet, nor seen him.

The widgets are massive the weather icon uses 1/4 of the screen Samssung HAS to reduce the icons to the same size as the ones on SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 or let use reduce the size.

                                    WE WANT SMALLER ICONS/WIDGETS NOW.
