About the choise between a N97 and the Hero. Don't doubt about it, you can't compare those 2 phone's. The N97 sucks in 3rd software devs, it's just a useless Nokia with a Qwerty. Nothing more.
Maybe the camera is better but that's it. Just grab the N97, like its made out of paper. Too bad but the Hero sure wins this one.
And yeh, my work is to test phone's, so my opinion would really count lol.

I have the HTC Diamond, HD and have just got the Hero, I have to admit the hero is not in the same class as the HD when it comes to video playback. But the Hero is just a joy to use, I have never noticed any major lag on the handset, the camera is not the best but its ok for snapshots.
I would recommend the handset to anybody, there are better camera phone and also better music phones but i dont think there are any phones out there which are more fun to use.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2009So a good phone crippled by overall weak hardware. Shame.Do you have one? How do you know its crippled? What you gain from this device shadow's the minor problems. The only big deal is the lack of camera flash.

Perkele, 06 Aug 2009How's the chin on the pocket? The chin isn't bad in the pocket lol, I don't notice it I mean it's more of a slight curve than a huge jaged thing digging into my leg =) I'm very happy with the phone though, it's great.

don't know it, 07 Aug 2009Why would you choose the Galaxy. It has less RAM, only 128 ... moreActually you have the wrong information as the Galaxy has 192 of RAM, and because of Hero's heavy Sense UI you probably have more free RAM on the Galaxy/ Magic than on the Hero.
The Magic has a trackball and I'm affraid it will get dust and dirt over the time and then won't work, just like my mighty mouse..

Why would you choose the Galaxy. It has less RAM, only 128 mb, even the Magic has 192mb, same processor, too many buttons at the bottom(in my opinion :) ), it doesn't support multi-touch and flash in the browser, and the virtual keyboard is worst than this on the Hero. The only advantages I can see in the Galaxy, are the better camera with flash, though I haven't seen any example photos from it, a slimmer design and the price.

I loved the Sense UI's look since the beginning; however, after reading this review, I can see that there are too many draw-backs and flaws in the hero hidden behind the gorgeous looking UI... Now the Galaxy seems the smarter choice... Anyway, I bet the guys over at Samsung are currently working on getting some sort of TouchWiz UI into an android device to compete (if not outdo) the hero and any other Android device!

Thats disappointing...
My jaws dropped when I first saw hero ( and then dropped even lower when Rachael was announced )
I guess we'll have to wait for Sony Ericsson's Rachael =(
