I would comment only what I can see from the shots that are put as sample shots in this test.
The result by me is 3:2 for Satio.
In the three outdoor shots by my opinion Satio has much more better result, more detailed, clear and realistic pictures.
On the other hand, the macro shot and the "flash" shot from this test taken with the Pixon 12 look much better than the shots of the Satio, especially the "flash" shot.
My personal conclusion: Since I am using the camera mostly for outdoor pictures, my choice and winner is the Satio.
Frankly speaking, I do not believe that I would take much shots of an chewing gum box and posters on a wall.

satio does better outdoors, the pic has more details.
but pixon produces much less noise indoors, which is pleasant.

Besides the somewhat disapointing flash performance I liked the pictures of the Satio over the pixons.
More natural to me then the colorboosted pixon pictures.
Overall the wideangle lens seems good fun but it's also causing less resolved details in the pictures. Look at the pictures from the gas station (the colums with the fuelprices) and you see what I mean.
I guess it's up to the users tast to choose between these two, differences are small. I' am in the market for the Satio!

It is interesting to read what some people are talking about the Pixon and SE Satio. I think the Samsung Pixon images are sharper, crystal and sweeter. It is quite unfortunate that some people may be colour blind and may not just appreciate what the capabilities of the Pixon is. It is not just about smartphones. It is all about Snapping, My dears!!

Nice photos, but both phones fail. Pixon with no smartphone OS, and Satio for using a battery that is as powerful as the N95's! Too soon SE and Samsung, too soon. They're both making the mistakes that LG made in pushing out tech to try and impress. 12mp is ridiculous in a camera phone.

I think the Satio actually has better all round pictures and as a phone, the Satio is better on the basis it runs smartphone OS compared to the Pixon 12.
I didn't think the Satio would possess the same imaging prowess as it does.

I agree wiht bummy, wide andgle lens is not the best thing to have on a camera phone... other than the face warping, the main disadvantage is that camera phones still dont have optical zoom!!! i mean i need to be as close to the subject as possible not farther away!
Daylight pics from the Satio look better, sharper and have more natural colors, i dislike the cartoonish over contrasted colors from samsung phones.
The Pixon beats the satio in night shots though,,, probably because of higher iso or better flash i dunno but other than having more light, the pics look more even from the Pixon.
Over-all i prefer the Satio, mainly because it is more versatile since its symbian.
I will buy the HD2 though!

I still think wide angle lens is a bad idea, especially when alot of picture are taken of people.
Wide lens warps people's face, making them look surreal and unnatural, to counter this effect, you'll have to take the picture further away from the subject... which is using less of the pixel estate, in other words lowering the quality.
The biggest problem with camera phones is the horrible zoom, not the need to take wider pictures.

Pixon outperforms Satio in almost any aspect of the little test you made.
The most notorious thing is the most accurate and sharp images, less blury than those you get with Satio.
Perhaps, the color rendition is better in Satio, more natural or neutral if you wish. The images on Pixon apear like "tuned or enhanced", wich is good if you want them ready to use or just look them into mobile phone or pc screen. If you want to edit them later, Satio seems the best option. Although, finally it`s a matter of taste.
In flash quality areas, images obtained with Satio are darker and more blury, and pixon does it better with a much more lighten picture.
All in all, as a point and shoot solution Pixon 12 is the best option, being Satio a very good alternative, cause both phones( or cameras? - the line is too thin these days)outperforms by far the current masive market of 5 MP shooters outhere (i still have a N95-3 wich satisfied me pretty much).
Regards to all

Definitely it's clear that the pixon is ahead on this test. GSMarena can't accept it as they are an SE fan.. they just don't want to comment... LOL

The pictures are pretty identical but the Pixon seem to evaluate exposure better. Susprisingly, the Satio's flash doens't perform as well as the Pixon's. The only thing I dislike in the Pixon's shots is the color saturation. It is just too exagerated, like in all Samsung phones.

For me the Satio seems to out perform the Pixon12 in every department except the flash. Expect the Satio to get even better with future software updates as well, ala' the Nokia N86 8MP. Good to see Sony Ericsson getting back on track!
