David, 28 Oct 2009Well then you must have low standards. That's how it is, so... moreYou say that the camera is bad... well its as good as it gets in a mobile. So either you took bad pictures, or you have way to high standards to ever enjoy a mobile camera.
The OS is not laggy, however, its inconsistent, sometimes double tap, sometimes just single. very annoying, but not laggy. But that is a problem with the OS, so you will be facing the same issues with Omnia HD wich you recommend instead.
The audio player I havent tried, and looking at the readings here, its absolutely not top of the class.
The x2's camera is not as good as satio's.. and the cpu in the X2 is not enough for a fluid WinPhone experience... plus the UI is not at all that good.
the Acer Neo Touch, HTC HD2 seems nice on paper, but the HD is a little bit too big + we dont really know anything about their performances in real life... and camerawise, they shouldnt have much to put up against Satio.
The N900 seems like a nice performer, but camera, again not a match... its a heavy and thick phone... but sure, its a more fun toy, and probably the one i would choose among those phones...
But if you are looking for a allrounder smartphone, with great camera performance the satio is it... Its not perfect, but none of the phones youve mentioned are, there is allways a compromise... this one has a great camera, another might have a more interesting OS, one have a really big screen, one might be a better music-playback device, one has video recorder that beats all of the rest hands down, one has a really snappy CPU. None of them have it all. If youre looking for the one that takes great stills, Satio is the one to go for.
If you rather have one of the other features, you have to go for that specific model...
but remember, you cant get it all in one device, at least not in any model out there made official.
please tag down on the critisism, its not fair, and looking at the review, as far as we know, its limited to your experience, and not in fact problems with this model.

- Take a dedicated cam

David, 27 Oct 2009Disapointing.. I was so looking forward to this phone. I we... moreThat's simple, take a dedicated camera with you, something like a DSLR, mate. That way you also save battery on phone for keeping in touch/receiving important calls etc. Unless that is going to be too big and you are travelling light then take a compact camera...

David, 28 Oct 2009Well then you must have low standards. That's how it is, so... moreOne thing is you do not like the phone, and another is passing you by insulting people who disagree with your tastes and thoughts, we note that you're upper class, but of ignorance ..

severely disappointed with the music player. how can SE have the balls to call this an "entertainment device?"
I was expecting a full walkman player, an equalizer, and SenseMe
wtf is this shit? do they want us to wait for a firmware update?
so much for entertainment "unlimited"
fail again, SE. I'm outta here.

the downfalls for me are the limited video player(??!!), music player lack of equalizers (wtf?!?), and the audio quality (if true. but i somehow doubt on that. because previously w902 also had similar readings here, but won the "best audio experience" award form highly profesional and specialized Test Factory).
but overall still one of the best phones out there. and it still beats all nokias(faster cpu and better implementation of touch symbian. this is the fastest and most user friendly touch-symbian yet, dont forget!) and is cheaper than iphone

I got the phone for a cou... moreWell then you must have low standards. That's how it is, some people have high standards, some people have low. My cousin got one a couple of hours ago and is returning it tomorrow for another phone. I just talked to him. He said it was laggy OS, mediocre camera when u tranfer photos to PC and the Audio player has awful sound and sounded distorted, all the songs were seriously high pitched.
I had a go at it in the shop earlier as well and was not impressed. Well, i have high standards, so i won't be getiing this half breed excuse for a wanna be high end phone.
In that priceclass i would rather get Samsung Omnia HD/Pixon, Nokia N900, Acer Neo Touch, HTC HD2, SE Xperia X2 etc. There are much better alternatives for less the money.
This phone is a epic fail for high end consumers, but for your average wannabe high end nitwit, its perfect.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2009they compare its flash to pixon 12 and clearly its flash is... moreActually , Xvid DivX out of the box is hardly releavent in my books.
SE Phones comes with Media GO which already puts any video into proper format for you... And also, there's also downloadable upgrades.
Moreover, xvid/Divx support often times are just gimmicks. They say its supported... but then you'll find yourself spending hours and hours finding out which specific divx videos codecs or settings it plays...
Having a software that figures it out for you is far superior.

I got the phone for a couple of day's and i realy love it !
The phone looks realy great and sleek. The sony ericson standby is fabalous! I dont have to go in symbian couse everything is there! Smooth and shiney.
The camera is really impresive. The satio makes a photo instandly without waiting for schutter or something..
The only thing i dont like is the buildin browsen but thats fixed with opera mini!

[deleted post]they compare its flash to pixon 12 and clearly its flash is not powerful enuf. also u cant deny that 3.5mm jack wud hv been a gud thing to hv on wat is supposed to be a high end device. no xvid/divx on a camera phone is unacceptable. the reviews r fair whether u like wat they say or not.

Disapointing.. I was so looking forward to this phone. I went to the shop, and they had show sample. No 3.5 mmm, no stereo speakers, i took some photos which were not impressive, in fact the photo quality was like 5 mp camerasn ot bad, but certainly not worth cashing the extra money and the Xenon was a joke. I transfered a Divx clip thru bluetooth from my phone HTC Touch HD to the Satio, and the Satio played it awfully, hacking all the time. Very Very disapointing phone overal. SE need to get their act togther, making people wait so long and then release a piece of sh**.
Well now i have to look for another phone with good camera, audio, stereo and OS. My HTC touch HD is lacking a camera flash and am going on a journey, need flash and good camera.
Any suggestions?

Normally the BST-33 battery has 950mAh capacity, but in this phone it comes to be 1000mAh.
Did they "overclock" the battery???

What about the battery life?? Only 1000 MA will be enough? I don't think so...really a big mistake.
