Nokia X6 review: Going up the ladder

18 January 2010
In the world of Nokia it's all about evolution, rather than revolution. So don't expect the specs on the X6 to blow your mind. The handset is the next step for the market leader scrambling to make up for a late start in touch- screens. To be honest, the Symbian S60 touch...

I'm thinking to buy this phone, but judging from the below comments, I rather wait for new Nokia Model or wait until price drop.
Nokia really needs to improve its mobile phones or it will keep losing loyalty customers.

I have owned 2 units of Palm (forgot the model, I think it was 505), which are manufactured by HTC. They are both VERY BAD. The battery died in the 4th month. I bought a second unit hoping my first was just a default one. The four way navigation button was not tactile as it should be. I stuck with it and at the 4th month, the battery died. I have no idea why anyone would trust a company like HTC which builds totally faulty products. While Nokia don't build dazzle phones like iPhone but their phones are reliable and I could depend on it. Just that, worth a lot of about features, functions...etc.

Red goes with Black. and White goes with Blue.
This is what, Nokia wants us to Believe.

                Did that Rhyme???

gsmarena - very childish reviews ... "Oh these great headphones..".

you need to stop playing catch up and learn how to write real reviews like mr murtazin.

                  cheers!

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2010looks like 5800xm will be my last nokia phone. bring stingy... morewell.. the iphone have been in its third generation... and the UI never change, boring as hell. nobody make noise of that... anyway i personally think the X6 should be the best Nokia touch screen yet, if not bcause of the high price. wait a while n the price will stabilize. and why everybody make a fuss on S60? i like it, super flexible n it can install everything i ever use (most of it free,by community development, cant beat that). yeah its not android but each OS hv their strentgh n weaknesses. if S60 is not ur thing then just skip it.

It's about priorities. When you have such a horrible experience (S60 as it is now), it does not matter if you get a good screen. The user experience will be bad... Another good phone spoiled by crappy Nokia software.

So that's the point: the capacitive did not matter, because in the end it feels just the same as the 5800, which sells for much less money.

It is altogether, a great phone. But then it costs too much. If the price was about 30000Rs., then more people would buy it. And it has got so much steel on it, that you could not possibly break it with a few drops on the floor.

1:All this time was representing resistive screens of nokia handsets as a drawback and when are replaced by capacitive ones the revewer decides he cant compare the 2 technologies as it is a matter of ''choise''.
2.The screen resolution is one of the best comparing to the majority of touchscreen phones.(and for its price tag)
3.As mentioned above, why HTC's plastic constructions are not negatively commented as in x6 ,given that it is a sturdy handset?

looks like 5800xm will be my last nokia phone. bring stingy on hardware and no improvement in UI. I am more and more looking into Android phone. now just wait til my AT&T contract end I will most likely switch to other network that has better phone (no body make decent phone that support AT&T 3G frequency other than iPhone and BB yet the network sucks) no point to stick with AT&T nor Nokia. Time to say goodbye.

may i ask about the handwriting recognition? i've tried with Samsung I8910 Omnia HD and its capacitive touchscreen, and the handwriting is just BAD, with no option of a stylus it's just sick trying to write!
